Torchwood was predominantly filmed in Cardiff and surrounding areas. It was beautifully filmed. I hope they bring Torchwood back but bring it back to UK. Since Chris Ecclestone became the Doctor Dr Who has been filmed in Wales. John Barrowman is always a card as well as Eve Myles, Gareth is very quiet I think he is very much like Ianto.

I don´t agree with one thing: killing one the most loved characters of the show don´t always is good for it, the writers can add more drama with other arguments, not killing 3/4 characters, including the leading one, Jack (and also we know than never will happen that to Gwen). If the original team still was in the show, today we could see more (good) seasons of Torchwood. The writers sometimes are wrong.

Who else is tired of showrunners calling killing off LGBT love interests "interesting" like...it's not RTD. I can't even count how many people said they stopped watching after Ianto died. There wasn't even much Janto content in the first place!

stabbykiri I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with the LGBTQ love interest content especially if it was from BBC. 20 years ago in the US yes, probably. They probably knew it was going to be once of the last seasons, and decided to not have a full season also Doctor Who was transitioning they probably weren’t sure that season 4 would be a thing. I agree I think Lanto’s death was not good for the show because it was the second to last season was kinda boring without the team. I wish season 3 was season 4 that way the ending made a bit more sense. The thing about writers though, they make dramatic stories on purpose, kill off characters especially with Doctor Who, Torchwood, Supernatural and just Sci-Fi because it’s so easy to bring them back. It also keeps the fans watching just in case if you know, there is still hope for the character (like Own for example) Look at Steven Moffat he does it on purpose not strictly LGBTQ. He killed everyone no matter what race, sexuality. You’ll be surprised most of the time killing of LGBTQ or a darker skinned character usually has no reason besides story. If they let it in the show in the first place then probably it was not the reason why they killed them off.

It has everything to do with LGBT. 20 years ago or 10 years ago or today, there is a huge difference between making a main character a flirty bisexual and creating a stable leading gay couple. It doesn't happen in shows that are not centred around LGBT. This wasn't where they intended or were ready for the show to go. Ianto's days were numbered. It only happened years ago with Malec, and after that some other show tried that, "Magicians"? Don't know where it ended up for them tho

Both are depicted in same sex relationships (Owen in S01E01 which is an alien object induced mmf threesome, Tosh in Greeks Bearing Gifts but I can't remember which episode that was). So technically yes, however, by the time they were killed off they both only expressed interest in the opposite sex since E01 and Greeks Baring Gifts respectively. And Owen's only same sex relationship was basically rape... so?? Like Ianto, neither Owen or Tosh's sexuality was defined in Torchwood and therefore I won't be labelling it but its safe to say they weren't hetero. Bury Your Gays is a big issue in Doctor Who... Its one of the things that make me sad that I love the universe so much.

I´ll always say it: the BIGGER´s mistake was leave Ianto out. (and go to America too, but killing Ianto.... RTD, you´re the worst writer ever) I love JB, but you can add drama with other elements, not killing one of the most loved characters (I understand he can´t say anything different that the writers says, so I love him anyway). My problem is without Ianto, I don´t see TW, because in this "new" TW, Gwen is the lead character and she never liked me. My favorites, always, Jack and Ianto (in Cardiff).
