Those were the days. This is such an underrated show and it might be Megadeth’s best!
@lukenotskywalker2957 Жыл бұрын
Megadeth was reborn at this show.. Well technically it happened before this.. But for those not in the know.. Megadeth ended in 2002.. Mustaine was sick of the band, and not long after that he damaged his left forearm and was told he would never play again.. By 2004 he had remixed/remastered all the albums up to that point and relearned to use his left hand and written a number of songs he intended to be for his debut solo album.. Told he still had a deal to conclude with Megadeth he decided to move the solo album over to being a Megadeth album and sort to rebuild the band to tour it and say farewell to Megadeth properly. Ellefson declined.. Friedman declined.. Menza agreed to but was asked to leave before the tour began due to some argument Menza was having with his techs.. So with the old members out new people were sort to play the parts for the tour instead.. This show was the final show of their tour for the album.. And Mustaine said that he would announce Megadeths future at the show.. I was watching this live streamed and in Spanish a language I don’t understand.. It has commentators.. They spoke over Dave the whole time but the moment came I believe just before Symphony that he had decided that Megadeth will continue.. And the crowd went nuts and I was bouncing around the room as these Spanish commentators were cheering and celebrating.. It was so awesome. I’ll always remember that memory and it blows my mind that nobody has that part on camera.. It was left out of the official show DVD these clips are from.

Say what you will . Dave is even more than this band and any other band he was a part of. The sad part is they will never know what a part of ALL of all of it he was. One man taking Thrash / metal and holding it in the palm of his hand's. And giving it back to all of us.

Wow, this song by Megadeth is an absolute masterpiece! It's like listening to the sweet symphony of Slayer's guitars, infused with the technical brilliance of Dream Theater, and sprinkled with the ferocity of Lamb of God. Dave Mustaine's trombone skills are on fire, making Dimebag Darrell rise from the grave to give a standing ovation! And let's not forget the mesmerizing drumming of Neil Peart from Rush, channeling the spirit of John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. The bassline is so groovy, it's like Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers took a vacation from his funkadelic adventures to join Megadeth for a jam session. The vocals are a true treat, with Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden providing soaring melodies, and Rob Halford from Judas Priest adding a touch of metal godliness. It's as if Ronnie James Dio himself descended from the heavens to bless this track with his divine voice! I must say, the harmonies in this song are mind-blowing, rivaling the intricate compositions of Opeth and the progressive brilliance of Tool. The lyrics are like a hidden message, deciphered only by the likes of Maynard James Keenan and Corey Taylor, speaking to the souls of metalheads across the universe. In conclusion, Megadeth has truly created a sonic marvel that transcends time and space, combining the influences of countless legendary bands. It's a musical amalgamation where Metallica's 'Master of Puppets' meets Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' in a cosmic mosh pit of pure awesomeness. Bravo, Megadeth, you've done it again!

For everyone in this comment thread, I looked up why he wrote the song: "Megadeth's 1994 hit "A Tout Le Monde" was written for Dave Mustaine's mother, who had passed away, and the song served as a loving memoriam from Dave to her. As you've probably guessed, or heard by now, the song's entire chorus is in French." That's from Metal Injection

Next time I hear idiots saying Dave Mustaine can't sing, I'm going to send them this link. Sure he doesn't have a 4 octave range, but it doesn't matter! Here he's at his vocal peak!❤ I fucking love this!!!
@NAlvazaz8 ай бұрын
And to add to this... Move over James Hetfield! I mean I like his vocals too, but until now I honestly though Dave Mustaine had never sang and just was a vocalist only whereas James Hetfield was the vocalist who became a singer due to voice training. To my delight I was proven wrong by this live performance! I only hope he can come back at least to where he could do part of what he does here. That said I'm just thankful the guy is now over 60 years and playing guitar as if he were in his 20s. If he could ever heal his vocals enough to be almost this good, it'll be awesome! Yes, I'm fangirling right now, LOL❤

I wish to have another chance to watch them live. A decade ago I attended a Megadeth followed by Black Sabbath concert in Santiago, 🇨🇱, but the sound of the first concert was awful. I wanted to listen to Megadeth and enjoy their songs, but it was excruciatingly impossible to do. Sadly

I wonder if the vocals has been touched up a bit in post. Bit of auto tune. If not, his singing is almost scary on point.
@NAlvazaz8 ай бұрын
I cannot detect any autotune. That's usually used in the studio which is why artists often can't sing their songs in concert. I mean i might be wrong but I can't detect any special effect. Usually, I can and it annoys the hell out of me. It's got this tinny electric sound to it that almost hurts my ears.
@linuswang65728 ай бұрын
@@NAlvazaz Auto tune can also be used to simply make the vocals perfectly in tune; it doesn’t necessarily mean the ‘robot voice’ thing. In other words, the only way it’s detectable is when the vocals sounds suspiciously perfectn. As I understand it, this clip is from an official Megadeth live DVD, and for such releases they touch up the audio in any way they can. Cheers!
@NAlvazaz8 ай бұрын
@@linuswang6572 you going there? He repeated the LIVE performance. It's easy to tell Autotune. You kids nowadays listen to it so much that you're used to it and think everyone uses it. Also Dave has the money to hire the best vocal coaches. Kids today are so annoying especially when they use no profile pics.
@SeanSMST11 күн бұрын
Nope. If you listen to the bootleg of this concert, Return to the South, you'll hear him singing the same notes (though muffled audio due to the age, almost 20 years old ). Maybe a very slight touchup, but it's far too indistinguishable to say for sure. He still sang really well live
