Bro I've noticed the same thing but I felt he aged amazingly up until a couple years ago. It was around the time Dystopia came out it's like he just hit a wall and fell apart but if you think about it he was kinda lucky to have aged so well for so long given the way he's lived his life. Plus it could just be genetics man genetics can be weird like that.

I've noticed that too. I think it might have something to do with the fact that he worked out like crazy to stay in shape, here... then when he injured his neck, he stopped... that, and the fact that it seems like he never is actually shaved in the newer interviews. It always looks like he has a bunch of gray scruff on his face. :P That alone will make someone look older.

God, Age really sneaks up on you doesn't it? I mean in this video he looks almost similar to how he looked in the mid to late 90s... And then BAM all of a sudden 4 years later and he looks like a Grandpa... Watch this interview then quickly shift over to one in 2012 and it will look like 10 or 15 years have passed.. I wonder if its cos of all the surgeries he has had, Dunno why but i feel bad when I see Dave the way he looks now, or maybe its just age that has caught up with him...

but since then he has been leading a very healthy life, no cigarette smoking, no alcohol (or whatever, as far as I understood, he still drinks a glass of red wine now and then, but that's great, 'cos red wine is cool s long as it isn't abused) and, of course, no type of drugs. I dunno, man... I saw in an interview from January or February (this year, 2013) that he is going kinda bald on top of his forehead and has alot of wrinkles and he does show his 51 year old age. This might be his gene...

The answer is "alot of psychological stress and fatigue". It's very tiresome to be on tour most of the time, write alot of great songs (alot of great and complex riffs and solos) and take care of the band, all the photos that he does, all the "taking care of this and that" etc. If I say "all the drugs and alcohol are the cause of Mustaine's physical features nowadays", I would say bullshit. Yeah, I know, he has been addicted to drugs and alcohol for almost 20 years, he died and was resuscitated,
