+Viktor Eliasson (MisledSwede99) I suspect the triggers here are used to control gates on the mics. The mics are constantly picking up sound, but a gate controls when the mic is active, it helps reduce sound bleed from cymbals and the other drums. It's all for a cleaner recording.

I only said I suspect... Using triggers for gates is quite common for recording now. I never said I knew for certain, but having both mics and triggers, lead me to think so.

The mics give me live audio during recording, and I also sometimes blend them with the trigger sounds. I don't hear the triggers while recording, only the mics. And yes I use some ez drummer sounds on the triggers :)
