Although I sort of agree with your concept, I would have to say: no. While Mr Mustaine is a better musician and composer, the true founders of Metallica are James and Lars, the band has always gone in whatever direction they wanted. Both bands are unique though. Metallica really lost something though, when Burton was gone. And I love Ellefson’s bass as well, very apparent on Megadeth songs.

james flames Yes sir the 80's the end of an era when you had to have some sort of musical talent to be a successful and popular musician. Now all you need is a computer and few vocal samples you can annoyingly repeat over and over and over until your iq physically drops. Don't have to learn any instrument, don't need to write any lyrics, don't need to personally have rhythm or be able to differentiate pitch, hell you don't even need to be able to sing or remotely carry a tune and somehow people think they're musicians or artists. It's just sad. Music was special because it required natural talent along with dedication to learning an instrument and or countless hours of vocal training and practice. Bands had to be able to synchronize together to form something beautiful. You had to be poetic enough to capture your listeners. Now you just need electric robot sounds and a digitally altered phrase repeated indefinitely. Whatever I'm just too old (39) and actually enjoy being impressed with talent.

Vocally compared to the greats like Dio, Halford, Bruce, nah even he'll admit it but it fits so perfectly for Megadeth's music and his snarls and growls are metal asf. Similar to Lemmy from Motorhead, if anything he talks instead of singing but his iconic voice fits Motorhead's music perfectly, same applies to Dave Mustaine

devin townsend about riffs "People asking me about riff similarities: I don't have an opinion really. I've written riffs my whole career that sound like something else." Dimebag to Robb Flynn of machine head: “we’re all just sharing riffs man”. Robb to Devin: "Got a lot of respect for you Devin, super talented musician, amazing producer (as the palaces burn production crushes all!). And while I would proudly admit that I stole a Riff from you... Was just a happy accident." rivalry between metalhead is just dumb and childish, don't fall on that xd, they all play guitar, they all listen to music and can be inspire by some riff. Peace sells is from 86, enter sandman is 91. Anyways great reaction as always xd

FairsleyDifference "entire first album". Lol, that was funny. He co-wrote 4 songs out of 10 (!!) .... And *all* his solos were re-written by Kirk (they were super fast before, yeah, but Kirk came up with something that, while not as technical, was a lot more musical to be honest). So, hardly an "entire album"...

Loved it at the end, the end after the first end, where you Sori came clean on what you felt about the song. Dont hold back or put on any make-up what you feel about the songs. Vin is good at that. Metal are mostly love it or hate it for so many reasons. But be true about it ,for if you like one song and dislike a similar song later you will in a way lose credibility. Dont fear the viewers and their reactions cuz we know you are new to metal so you are allowed to say that was too much noise, crap, good, loved it and so on. We metalheads have found our metal, now we kinda want to see you find yours. Keep em videos coming!!

Enter Sandman was released several years later, but the riff is quite different. during the years the world of heavy metal went busy (mid 80s to early 90s), you can find lots of riffs having a similar vibe. that galopping style got pretty standard and it's really hard to tell who's done it first. btw, nice pick for a reaction vid, again. if at any time you like to do Meshuggah again, please do Clockworks. :)

It was Metallica's frontman who was mean to Mustaine's dogs. Megadeath = 1 million killed by nuclear explosion. That's one megadeath. Minus the one A and you got... Megadeth. Riffs/songs stolen by Metallica from Mustaine: Their first album: Metal Militia, Phantom Lord, Jump In The Fire and The Four Horsemen 2nd album: Ride The Lightning & The Call of Ktulu 3rd album: Leper Messiah (that's dodgy, but i can hear the stuff Dave is known for in that particular song)

Mgla are amazing, well worth checking out you two. Great lyrics too. Also in case you're wondering, the bands name is Polish for fog, it's pronounced something close to "mmgwah" for future reference.

That riff that is driving you crazy (the one at the start) was played by MTV’s intro program back in the day. Also I’m sure many told you already but Mustsine is a founding member of Metallica. He was later kicked out. Which gave birth to MEGADETH.

Came for the reaction, stayed to look at Sori. Vin, I saw you perk up when you heard the bass intro! it was the old MTV News intro "you hear it (bun bun bun behn bun behn bun ba behn) first!"

Tong Po wtf? 4 songs from Kill Em all and 2 riffs from Ride the Lightning. Mustaine Master Of Puppets 0%, Mustaine And Justice For all 0% Mustaine Ride The Lightning 1%, Kill em all 35%
@jaad7562
@jaad7562 6 жыл бұрын
I'm talking about a rhytmic pattern under the verse of Sandman which are palm muted 8-notes on E string with an accent on F5 on the first note of the measure and in case of Peace Sells you have the same palm muted E as a pedal note and changing power chords (G#5,G5,G#5) at the end of each measure, but to untrained ears it may sound pretty similar. Of course the endings of these riffs are quite different and accents are technically in different places in a measure, but I've heard many people saying they find it similar somehow.

If you like to go deeply into the lyrics of a song, check the poetry inside Savatage. You can react to "The Hourglass" or "Morphine Child" for the latest songs, or "Gutter Ballet" and "When the Crowds are gone" for the older stuff :)

The solo, sure... but the song - meh. Its tedious and repetitious.All the solos off of RIP are great. Hangar 18 is way better. multiple solos... all amazing. Or 5 Magics ... all off same disc. Better constructed songs. Ive seen many YTers react to Tornado of Souls. they mostly look bored and then at the end say "wow, nice solo"

Great channel first of all. Now you are looking at the lyrics from a total different aspect than what they were. I was 16 when this song came out, the PMRC was at war with music and mainly metal. The government, churches and anybody with any type of authority was trying to ban METAL. We were told you are all satanist, never going to amount to anything and were going to spend your life in jail or dead. This song came out against the PMRC and the lyrics were aimed at everything they were fighting. What the PMRC tried to do totally backfired on them and made metal even more popular. I saw it all first hand. The Censorship and the Warning labels that are on the cd's and records are because of them. I hope you look at the lyrics from this point of view.
@0okamino
@0okamino 6 жыл бұрын
Indeed! The song maintains many levels of relevance today, but that is an important point you brought up. Of course, that fight would ultimately be about more than just metal or rap, which is why even a mellow, relatively wholesome guy like John Denver was out there speaking his mind and standing up against the PMRC's art "morality" policing agenda. Anyone with so much as an iota of good sense could tell how insidiously that agenda might effect their own artistic expressions.

When you mentioned Kirk's solo in Fade to Bkack being like a prayer, it reminded me of John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" (one of the greatest instrumental prayers of all time) but also numerous songs with Chris Cornell's vocals. "Say Hello to Heaven", "Jesus Christ Pose", "Show Me How to Live", and "Like a Stone" to name a few. It's obvious by Cornell's lyrics and soulful vocals he was searching for some kind faith in throughout his life, but sadly never found it. Cornell's relationship with God (or lack thereof) is way more complex and heartbreaking than any songs by Deicide, Behemoth, Megadeth, or Slayer. I love a all the music you've reacted to (have CDs by most of the bands) and I wish you'd react to some Temple of The Dog, Soundgarden, and Audioslave, because Chris Cornell's search and ultimate failure to find a reason to keep living is probably the most perplexing.
