some specific albums are just a "10" no question, Rust in Peace is without question one of those. From beginning to end, no denying, no filler, hands-down, metal or otherwise, the epitome of a perfect ten album, transcendent, ideal, exact, calculated, undeniable. They roll with the time changes a bit fast, bring it back, not quite laxed, but ready to bring the attack,. I mean 5 Magics? Super on point on all aspects, Lucretia's laugh to Tornado of Souls like a metal Phalanx? That was the album, and that's where its at, straight to the meat, void all the fat. Good times, glad they could still bring the time, rarely a metal album compares or coincides, this is the shit! but, real talk, Nick Menza, Marty Friedman with Ellefson was Dave's best shot, and along with Peace Sells, those albums were all top-notch. Doesn't matter who you are or preconceived opinion, no one can deny that Rust in Peace was one in a million.

this was an amazing line up for Megadeth, i saw this band at The House of Blues in Myrtle beach SC. we had top balcony seats right above the stage and we were just blown away at how tight these guys are together, and WOW how does Dave sing and play all those amazing riffs at the same time, Sean Drover is like a Paving Steam roller setting the drive of the band with his piston like double kick that crushes your chest from start to end relentlessly pounding the senses, while Broderick Delivers effortless spot on solos from the Great Marty Freidman and WOW does he nail it, ( Freidman is in a league of his own when it comes to phrasing solos and effortless playing) its like Broderick wrote those notes himself the way he plays it so effortlessly, and of course Elfman holds it all together with that thundering crisp Bass. as a whole, its the best performance ive ever seen, they came out, no Hoopla, no explosions, or balloons or bubbles, no dancing girls or juggling monkeys, The stage was a huge wall of Marshall stacks, thats it, and Drovers flying Saucer Drum cage. they were spectacular, and this here video proves every word i said, they just deliver non stop Adrenalin driven in your face straight up the middle crush your balls classic METAL. blew that "other band" away, you know that "other band" that kicked dave out a long long long time ago.. well, im sure glad they did because this here is a gift to all metal fans. Fuck yeah, i agree..Chris plays the Marty shit pretty easliy it sounds like.
@galenmarek82873 жыл бұрын
Broderick can play anyone’s solos fairly effortlessly, he’s a killer guitarist. He gets accused of playing without emotion quite often though, if you pay attention to him and follow his work you know that isn’t true at all. He pours everything about himself into his guitar playing. He just looks robotic to people who don’t pay a lot of attention to him. If you only watch his live shows with Megadeth then you may very well think that. Watch his lessons and interviews or his current and previous work and you’ll have a better appreciation for him. The way he plays is just how he was taught from when he first picked up the guitar. Marty was my favorite in Megadeth, but Chris is by far the most technically advanced they’ve ever had.

Dave is the best heavy metal guitarist ever.Even live he pushes himself with great sound. Ive seen all the metal concerts and dave + crew was the best.
@galenmarek82873 жыл бұрын
Somewhat agree, the only competition I hold to him is Dimebag. Dave has more technical rhythms, Dime has more original rhythms. Dave is a samurai on lead playing, Dimebag is a Jedi Master, or perhaps a Sith Lord at lead. The only edge I would give to Dave is that he can play those complex ass rhythms while singing and never miss a beat or note. Dime could play and sing also, but he never did at the level or consistency that Dave did. Lols, Dime is my favorite though, so it’s hard to decide for me.

We've lost so many of the really intelligent rockers recently. It's great that Dave wasn't one of them as he is the thinking person's metal head par excellence. One of the greatest guitarists who has ever lived also. Awesome gig. When the song was written 30, 35 years ago but still hits home now, that's some serious lyrics. To think at the time metal was thought of as a disposable art form with no value. Now we are realising the cultural and prophetic significance of it.... too late?
