“Rust in Peace… Polaris” es la canción titular y de cierre de Rust in Peace. Al principio, llamado “Child Saint”, fue escrito por Dave Mustaine antes de 1983, mucho antes de que hubiera formado Megadeth.
La letra es desde el punto de vista de un misil nuclear llamado Polaris. Cuando se lance el misil, destruirá muchas vidas y tal vez incluso termine con la humanidad, pero la letra finalmente predice que habrá paz con el aforismo, "Todas las ojivas se oxidarán en paz".
