I really wanna meet Dave. He’s my favourite guitarist right now, and he just seems like a really chill and cool guy. The problem is that I live in a different country, and I’m 14, and my mum doesn’t want me listening to metal.

I met Dave in Vegas while they were on the "So Far, So What" tour opening for Alice Cooper. As we were standing by the bus, a guy asked Dave for a pick and he dug in his nose and did the same thing.

As good as Slash is, he would be a terrible fit for Megadeth. It would be like putting Jimmy Page in Black Sabbath.

The book was a nice read! This was a cool and laid back interview, Mustaine is like "you talk and I sign some stuff in the meantime" =)
@br1rocks3 жыл бұрын
I agree. Just got done reading the book last night. I wish the interviewer would have asked some of the obvious, more hard-hitting questions raised by the book...at some point the guys were literally reading what the other one wrote and arguing with each other on the pages haha. But it seems like they will let bygones be bygones, obviously Dave is okay with it because he kept Marty and Ellefson’s views in the book. It’s clear to me that Dave is a highly intelligent, good-hearted person but that he’s struggled with a lot of pain and self-esteem...which is why he can come off as a jerk sometimes but he’s still a metal icon, cancer survivor, family man, and super talented person.

A little confusion on Dave and the hosts part on the number of Grammy nominations.. Megadeth have been nominated 12 times and won on the 12th nomination... No 13th nomination yet.

I watched a Vinnie Paul interview ounce I guess Dave wanted dime in megadeth bad he offered dime a lot of stuff and remembere dime was nothing at the time a small time Texas money royalty stardom guarantee of success but according to Vinnie after serious thought he couldn't leave his brother its obvious Dave not only is a genius he can find them as well Dave trying to get a unknown guitar player in his band offering him huge rewards means Dave seen greatness in dime and was right dime being widely considered top 5 of greatest guitar players in history obvious Dave knows his stuff and probably why he is still one of the biggest metal stars

Slash is a good guitarist, but unlike the guitarists that came after Friedman, he would not have needed to keep up with Friedman if he played on Rust in Peace. However Slash would not have matched up to the standards of Chris Poland and Jeff Young. The whole point of Megadeth is to sound bigger and better then Metallica, it wouldn't be right to have a guitarist as good as Kirk. Well at least they'd still have Nick Menza outplaying Lars.
@somewhatsomething48823 жыл бұрын
I think if Slash let Dave control the actual guitar tones to suit Megadeths music it could have been amazing! Like listen to Coma (which musically was pretty much written by Slash) and imagine the music with Megadeths gtr sound and production. 😭😭

It's intriguing having dime in megadeth but would never work dime loved drinking but hated drugs plus he would of took half the people watching Dave wonder be watching dime who was a natural star just Don't think Dave and dime could be in a band back then

Is this guy a journalist?? He doesn't know anything about Dave or Megadeth... I think Dave gets that, so he starts to do the signing stuff... like 'I don't care that much about this dude... '
