Megadeth's Rust In Peace: the BEST and WORST songs

Dave himself has talked about this many a time, as people sometimes get lost in the lyrics of the song and don't really get what's going on, but Tornado of Souls is about getting out of a dysfunctional relationship.

Brilliant video man! AJFA is an absolutely incredible listen, the tone of those guitars and the drum tone and playing is something that can only be described as perfect, but I personally would have to put Rust higher, although I'm a big Megadeth fan so there's probably a bit of bias on my part too. I think in the end it all comes down to personal preference, while these two bands are both Thrash, I can't find many serious links between the bands, therefore I feel that by comparing them, it's always gonna be a disservice to one of them, but I digress, your videos never fail to entertain me, so thanks!

For a long time I thought they were the same progressive, intense albums - now I see them so differently. Rust is blazing guitars, while Justice is crunchy riffs. Both clearly spotlighting the frontmen's musical style of the time. Love them both immensely!!!

I was born in 71, grew up jamming Metallica & Megadeth in the 80's. I lived that shit! Not a fucking pozer like so many were. I was a drummer in a garage band and most our songs were Metallica! LOL. I saw them on the and justice for all tour and met them afterwards, still one of my favorite bands to this day! However, I absolutely love Megadeth ! Rust in peace is my favorite album but Peace sells is a close second. I agree Holy Wars is the #1 tune. I would put rust in peace over and justice for all though, both great albums but Megadeth takes it. Master of puppets is probably my fav from Metallica. Great video! Long live the classic thrash bands! Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Testament, Death Angel, Exodus, etc. !!! Was an awesome time to be alive!

I guess I've never spent the time to think about who was the best guitarist Megadeth has had but thinking about it now and I am not sure. Friedman obviously played on a lot of their most popular thrash stuff but I think Chris Broderick might be a better guitar player. Maybe. I am basing this off his life performances of the early songs as well as the songs from when he was in the band. He is a fantastic guitar player. I vote for ...And Justice For All but I am biased. But, I'll tell you what, you've gotten me to fire up Rust In Peace right now.

Megadeth has had a bunch of killer “second guitarists”, Broderick among them. None of them felt quite up to Marty’s level though. There’s a video on KZbin which directly compares Marty, Chris, and Kiko playing the Tornado of Souls solo live, and it’s a good example of how the song just “feels” better with Marty playing.

Rust in Peace is a fantastic album but the only thing it’s got over Justice is a good mix. Justice is top tier.

Rust in Peace. AJFA is amazing but it had to grow on me. RIP was perfect the first time I listened to it. Tornado of Souls is my favorite song and I heard it’s actually about Dave’s divorce and escape from a bad relationship.

Rust In Peace is way more consistent than And Justice. In my humble opinion even though And Justice is a great album it is no where near as good as Rust. What carried And Justice was One and Blackened for the most part and sure Harvester but its not as memorable. Rust the whole album is perfect start to finish. Holy Wars is one of the best intros to any album. And Tornado of Souls need i say any more? Hangar 18 is a perfect mix of solos and lyrics with how few it has. Not to mention Marty helped this album and future albums so Rust in Peace is far better than And Justice

Hehe this is funny... the best metallica album is nowhere near megadeth's worse... and that would be Kill em All... which, by the way is all Mustaine... hehe. Rust in Peace is the Best not only Thrash, but metal album, ever. Period. Those licks, those riffs, those chops, those songs, bit by bit, it's just like comparing Styx with Zappa... not even comparable..., you got on one side great musitianship and chops that serve the music, and in And justice you got chaos and pseudo odd meter shit played quite bad... it dont work... not to mention that fkn bassless mix! Anyways, it would be better to compare it with any other album because, truly, Justice aint even top 20 Thrash... You got Rust, Peace Sells, Reign in Blood, Testaments Souls of Black, Suicidal's Art of Rebellion, Anihilator Never Never, Overkill's Years of decay... and many times before justice, but not even top 10, Kill em All and Master... yeah... you compare pro's with average thrash musitians... the only thing I Like better in Metallica is Hetfield's voice... so yah... Megadeth rules... always has and always will

Dave wrote solo on jump in the fire Solo on metal militia Middle riff in phantom Lord The middle section in the mechanix NOT the four horsemen ( wich he stole from sweet Alabama, from lynard skynard) Neverwrote a lyric in metallica. Also god credit for the song ride the lightning, a 5 sec riff before the solo And a riff from the call of ktulu. 6 sec befofre the song is finished. He co wrote 2-3 minutes for his 11 months in metallica. He got royalty for a for these songs. If You had Been an hang around in the scene in the 80s, You would Know. Dave so full of shit. Great guitarplayer Nothing more. Over 40 years still wanna be in metallica. You need to Get your facts right. Not only be a fanboy. To lame.
