Love Megadeth....can't stand Pantera. Vinnie would have fit in good with Megadeth. Vinnie can literally play/write ANYTHING. Dime would not have been a good fit. Dime would have had to change his entire guitar sound plus most rhythm sections of songs he's written are too simple for a technical band like Megadeth. Yeah, Dime's solos kick ass, but Dave would have been the asshole that he is and not used any of Dime's rhythm material. He'd basically be playing what Dave writes. Kinda like Jeff and Kerry (Slayer), Jeff was the writer and Kerry was Jeffs assistant. Dave Mustaine was born with the ability to write and play groove oriented music. Have you not listened to Metallica songs: The Call of Ktulu, Ride the Lightning, Leper Messiah, For Whom the Bell Tolls, etc.....the early Metallica stuff is also Dave's shit. So yes, he has the groove. He chooses to write/play technical oriented stuff intentionally, rather than to sound like another Metallica-ish groove band.
