timjenkins502 Total classic.. Music and lyrics written in 1 night by Mustaine upon hearing of Cliff Burtons death in 1986.. Days after it happened.. And not from Metallica.. His supposed friends.. The lyrics themselves are not about Cliff or the situation at all.. But the song came from hearing of that news and how it felt not hearing it from the guys he formed Metallica with.. And days after it happened from someone who didn’t even know Cliff.. That in itself is fucking horrible.. Imagine finding out your friend and band mate is dead days after it happened and from nobody you shared time with together with him.... Just thinking about that makes me angry.

Yes this album still has Marty Friedman on guitar and Nick Menza on drums.
@lukenotskywalker29575 жыл бұрын
Brian P. It was Menzas last with the band. He left 1 year after the album released. He came back a few times over the years but never on tour or on record.. A shame he was an outstanding drummer. Marty left on the following record when Mustaine said that Megadeth needs to return to Metal.. Friedman wanted to do more pop and synth shit.. Ellefson agreed with Mustaine. Megadeth is a Metal band.. The drummer at the time joined the band to play Metal so he was game.. And by god is his drumming on TWNAH insane. Interesting period in the bands history.. The golden era ending and entering into the repair and rebuild era.. For reference we are in the return to form era now which could depending on the next album and if it’s as good if not better than Dystopia then we could be seeing a new golden era in the band to rival the Mustaine/Ellefson/Friedman/Menza combo of the 90s

@@conciergemarie6981 i can honestly say ive listened to megadeth right up to risk. Bought every album etc. But heres my 2 cents. For some reason metallica can get a grove on more than megadeth. They just have these big catchy beats that pound at yer. Also with metallica they show more diversity (one, orion).... that said. Megadeth absolutley trounce them on lyrics.... And raw like agression. I can hear a uk punk influence in sfsgsw.. Lyrics to peace sells are so so genius. So metallica got the slick grooves and those magic earworms that can cause a hit. But deth have got venomous lyrics and a manic rawness that only a true tortured artist can produce.

You’ve had your first taste of radio friendly commercial sounding Megadeth.. It’s still Megadeth their style and energy is still all there.. There’s some great stuff that came out of this period when it came to expanding Megadeths sound. Cryptic Writing was Megadeths 7th album (Rust is their 4th) Some fun facts.. Dave plays this live with a twin neck guitar. It’s epic! Trust is their first song to ever get number 1 on radio when it was released.. The other singles off the album did well.. But not as well as Trust.. Their following album Risk went a little to much in the direction of radio for most fans and isn’t very popular.. It has good songs on it.. But not songs you really want Megadeth to be putting out.. The album after that they went back to Metal and continued from that album to now releasing better and better albums as they go.. Their latest album Dystopia (2016) is probably in their top 5 best albums.. Obviously that depends on your tastes but I think it’s their most well thought though album since the mid 90s in terms of focus and quality. They are working on a new album right now but because of Mustaines throat cancer there has been a slight slowing down on that front while he gets that sorted.. So it’s looking like a 2020 release. 4 years between release.. Making it the longest wait for a Megadeth album ever. 😬🤣 I’m patient though.. I can wait for as long as it takes.. I know it will be worth it.. They are on a roll right now as well because of the success of the last album and it’s high quality.. It’s aggressive for sure. It’s not as fast as other albums like Rust or parts of Endgame.. It’s more like Peace Sells but modern.. Different but more in that realm.. You’ll understand when you get to it.. There’s no rush.. Megadeth have about 200 songs.. Very few can be considered ‘bad’ and even then you might like them.. Your not a dye in the wool Metalhead so it could work for you. It’s usually the hardcore metal guys that hate the stuff off Risk and Super Collider.. The more open minded enjoy it for what it is.

Megadeth has such a deep catalogue and many albums have their own unique sound. Check out the follow up to "Rust in Peace" called "Countdown to Extinction" The more popular singles from the album were "Sweating Bullets" and Symphony of "Destruction" but it also had fast, heavy + melodic songs like "Skin of My Teeth" Can't wait until you sink you teeth into more. Glad you enjoyed it. This was their biggest single from the album (and it was a single-heavy album) The fastest songs on the album are Vortex, FFF, Disintegrators

Rex Weathers If you are going to listen to anything off Megadeths first album Killing is my Business... And Business is Good! Then you must listen to the 2018 version of the album.. It’s the best version sound wise by far.. If you really want that raw sound listen to the original 1985.. But I’m telling you as a fan listen to the 2018 version. It does justice to a muddy original sounding record the drums actually come to life like nothing you’ve heard before on the 2018 version because it was buried in the originals muddy mix.. The rawness is still all there but the sound is so much better.

I have thought of two other songs. Early on, Dave did a lot of covers and some songs for movie soundtracks, as well. His cover of Anarchy in the UK (The Sex Pistols) is awesome and worth a listen, but his best cover, off of the Shocker soundtrack is No More Mr. Nice Guy (Alice Cooper). He performed this in the midst of lineup changes between the So Far, So Good, So What and Rust in Peace recordings. Nick had joined the band, but Marty had not, yet joined. This is a ripping song and the guitar is all Dave Mustaine. I always loved that Dave has never had an ego in featuring the other guitarist in the band, but doing this without another guitarist shows what you already know. He is as good as any metal guitarist ever.
