Christopher Hargreaves Risk (to me at least) was bullcrappish glam rock ballad type of nonsense. By 'pop' I mean taking into account that they're still a metal band. And Cryptic Writings was, for me at least, the most melodic, memorable in terms of lyrics and soulful (if you will), hard rock album of the 90's. One of those albums you remember a lot of lyrics to decades later, and they make you insanely nostalgic. No other Megadeth album (not even Rust in Peace) does that to me. But again, this may be highly opinionated and subjective.

Heard this song when my son was playing a video game - twenty years ago? The lyrics and melody are so good. It has such a kick ass beat that I listened to it when working out for years. I love Cryptic Writings in its entirety. Risk, too, was for me a brilliant album, and a testament to the fact that the band had the capacity and the courage to explore. Sure, the album was hated at the time by some, but I really doubt playing it safe near the peak of their success would sound as good in hindsight. I love the Megadeth of the 90's.
