As I am in my 20’s and listen megadeth just less than 10 years ago. I’ve never lived the change of Megadeth throughout it’s albums. A lot of people say that Megadeth became kinda commercial in the 90’s (where youthanasia was released). Seeing Dave acting like a rockstar is kinda different than Dave don’t giving a fuck and head banging in the early 80’s. I will always love Megadeth and admire Dave, but know I understand what those guys told me lol. Still think its 90’s were brilliant

Lets all remember Megadeth had their Load phase a few years before metallica and it lasted longer.
@julienverveer7487 жыл бұрын
no not really... youthanasia and cryptic writings were good metal records and way better than load and reload together. I think that Megadeth had their phase with risk and it ended after they put out endgame.
@MichaelHemotoxin7 жыл бұрын
Slower, down tuned, with an emphasis on the blue and other non metal influences. I'd say its their load era, that momentary lapse in time where the thashers forgot how to thrash. Use the man and this fucking song prime examples.
@julienverveer7487 жыл бұрын
Michael Chavez use the man wasnt in youthanasia though. And they still made a lot of metal in youthanasia and cryptic writings. Other than metallica who just made stoner rock or whatever load and reload was. Youthanasia had fast thrash songs as well: victory, (they made the demo of new world order in this time as well), train of consequences and cryptic writings had fast thrash songs as well: disintegrators, she wolf, FFF. So i don't think they had their 'load' period until they released risk
@MichaelHemotoxin7 жыл бұрын
Compare those songs to the Conjuring and it will all make sense and yes Use the man is on cryptic writing, which is stil apart of their load aka lets appeal to alternative fans era
@MichaelHemotoxin7 жыл бұрын
Also please don't use she wolf as an example for a good metal song, its a great song in general, but the intention is so obvious, especially during that Power Rangers solo rip off at the end

Youthanasia definitely SOLD somewhere in the top 3 for Megadeth, up with with Countdown to Extinction and either Rust in Peace or Cryptic Writings, but I'm almost positive that CW and Youth sold more than RIP due to the mainstream effect those albums had, as well as radio play. Plus the billboard chart position on both those albums. As for favorites, it would have to go Countdown is the best, then Endgame, then Rust in Peace, then 13.
