Is it just me who's disappointed with these. Seeing the Birmingham one made me realise they were actually assholes to be around (crew and band). Even though they seemed to be respectful towards fans but the behind the scenes seemed really toxic.

This was by far the best Megadeth line up Mustaine ever put together. Rust in Peace is their best Album by far and is the best thrash metal album of all time. I read somewhere that Friedman was hired after Dimebag Darrell turned down Mustaine's offer when Mustaine refused to take Vinny Paul with as a package deal. Thank Christ that happened. We wouldn't have had Deth with Freidman and we wouldn't have had Pantera. What a tragedy that would have been for metal.

Rust in peace is Defo Megadeth's best. Not sure if it beats live undead or Reign in blood though but it isn't that far behind.

But imagine just one album with the Dime , Vinnie, Dave and David. I can only imagine how badass that would have been!!! But missing out on Megadeth with Marty and Nick and then Pantera wouldn’t have been worth it! Good point!!!!

Their best albums are Rust in Peace, Killing Is My Business, So Far So Good... and Peace Sells is numero uno. Gar Samuelson was a MONSTER drummer and I'd rather listen to Chris Poland than Marty, even though Marty is great too. I think Kiko's excellent too. Jeff Young is very underrated and I think one reason he gets looked over a lot is because he had a big falling out with Dave. Broderick is also great. They never had a bad guitarist. Mustain himself is great, so he's got a very high standard regarding lead players.

I was 3 in 1990. GOD things looked so much better back then.
@imvandenh4 жыл бұрын
I'd like to say the music was better then but that's not true. It sounds just as good now as it did then to my ears anyway. I was 13 in 1990 and had been playing guitar for 3 years at that point, just hitting my stride and heavily immersed in all sorts of music. The 1990s were a really really great time for music in my opinion. So many great bands and so much incredible music came out of that decade and not just in metal either. The alternative rock group Belly, who was lead by Tanya Donnely, released their debut album called Star in 1993 and to this date I don't think I've found an album that I like more, such amazing songwriting and production. I highly recommend everyone check that record out even though it is definitely not metal and I'm a Metalhead through and through. But anyway, people who had their formative teenage years in the 1980s probably say the same about the hair metal and the keyboard/synth rock that made the 80s shit, that the 80s were such a great time for music when I couldn't disagree with that statement more. Just goes to show how everything's subjective, a matter of personal opinion. We all have our own perspective regarding everything. That perspective sometimes agrees with other people but does not necessarily make it factual
@user-ty3oc5ph5e4 жыл бұрын
I was 13. The 90s were amazing. I am sad that people born in 2000 and beyond don't know life before smart phones and the world wide web. We were the last generation who didn't grow up glued to phones.

Got to meet all the members of all 3 band's, tee shirts and cd's. I was going with my aunt because I didn't know anyone yet at the time because I had just come down to Socal from Washington state in 1990 to get away from the Meth scene I had been in for 5 yrs . That was my family's way of trying to help me back then which worked until I moved back to Wa. This concert was 11 days before my 21st . But my aunt had a serious alcohol problem and was a wreck the day of the concert and her boyfriend at the time was the only other person I had that had a vehicle to get us there, I hadn't met anyone my age yet .It was a killer show except he didn't believe in people under 21 yrs old drinking. Brings back great memories. I was obsessed with Megadeth in this era. Was at this tour in New Haven, CT. Unfortunately shortly after this is when they started losing me. “Countdown” has some solid songs, but the pure menace of previous albums was absent. It was a new, cleaner, nicer Megadeth. Glad they kept soldiering on, but Rust In Peace was the be all, end all for me.
@imvandenh4 жыл бұрын
Same here boss. I remember sitting in my bedroom after begging my mother to take me to the Kmart to purchase Rust in Peace after it came out, guitar in my lap trying to figure out Holy Wars The Punishment Due. 30 years later and I still haven't nailed it down completely, though I do a fairly decent reproduction of Dave's ending solo, nor have I found a more perfect metal song. I wanted to be Dave Mustaine when I was a young teenager. Oddly however, I saved up my paper route earnings and bought a Jackson Kelly, like Marty played. Not a king V like Mustaine. To this day, I think that Kelly Standard is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever owned.
@deadharvest294 жыл бұрын
@Ira van den Heuvel - Awesome! Yeah I’m a guitar player as well and I bought the book of guitar tabs for Rust In Peace back then, attempting to learn the rhythm parts to a bunch of those songs. I remember Lucretia giving me problems. That solo by Dave at the end of Holy Wars is in my top 3 all-time favorite guitar solos ever. Still gives me goosebumps! I love the aggression and build of it. Marty’s stuff is fantastic on that album as well, and a great contrast to Dave’s meaner, dirtier style. These “Vault” videos have reinvigorated my old Megadeth obsession a bit and as a result I just listened to “Dystopia” this week for the very first time. It’s cool and I’ll listen more, I just gotta realize that Rust In Peace was kind of the end of that particular era for the band. Cheers!

The single aspect is that we were younger

It was better because, you lose Freedom every year.

@@NKomarov yes and no , it was also a less divisive world . Social media and the internet have ruined discourse and the media has divided us more then ever. Of course people had there issues in 1990 and the world had many problems but the average person seemed happier, women were women men were men and people had a sense of humour, didn't take things so seriously. I honestly believe today's " progressive" world is the most divided , hateful, insane time in the west in a hundred years ! Today someone would want Ellefson " cancelled" for his Japanese inspired shirt that he showed at the beginning of the video for being " Racist " . That's the world we live in now , and yes of course life is better when your 15 like I was in 1990 but even my parents say the same thing , life was just better before the 2000s.

really digging the mix where the bass is intelligible. jr. is really a giant in the bass world. he mutes during regular play, and lets ring during solo's. love the position of the mic. for a change anyway.

Wow , that audio intro to the Show is so scarily accurate to what the overlords have put us through over the last 2 years, all for nothing ........well , nothing for us but HUGE power and control for them . Great footage of one of the greatest bands in metal firing on all cylinders.

And Vic Rattlehead! Don't leave out Vic.... he's there!
Crazy. The guy Dave is calling for “Bobby”. I met and worked with him before years ago. Probably around 1995 which was only a few years after this was filmed. He was partial owner of a studio in Utica NY we recorded at. Cool dude. He had a ton of megadeth passes, picks and other stuff lying around the studio. I knew he worked with them but it was cool to hear Dave calling for him
