The Gravity Group have done a good job with the retrack, but I be honest and say that I think a theme would be good for it, I mean theming and story be better for it? Aswell theming parts to fit with the drop and lake, think it would be better in my opinion? Like Expedition Everest, but original storyline? Not Disney, but something completely original, stands out and competes with Disney parks aswell Merlin Parks? Was thinking maybe a mountain type attraction? Where adventurous speed through and around mountain facing maybe an evil character? Phantom? or something? Something that fits with name? But apart from this, nice layout, doesn't need changing layout, but yeah just think a theme could be something park could look into maybe? But nice POV, enjoyed and look forward to seeing more videos & content soon. 😀👍

Used to work at Oakwood and have ridden megaphobia hundreds of times.... I'm not sure I like the retrack. I can see why they've done it, they've made the banked turn after the first drop much wider and smoother which I imagine puts way less strain on that part of the track but it takes a lot of force and also speed out of the ride leading to the rest of it feeling much less intense.

I completely disagree, this coaster has a lot of historic value for the country and the ride manufacturer. Made sense not RMC'ing the ride. Not everything needs RMC'ing either. Gravity Group have smashed it 😁

@@8DZoneMusic, historic value doesn't draw people to the park, which is what Oakwood desperately needs. The UK's only RMC with funky features would do that. Even as far as regular wooden coasters go, it's not great

Highly disagree some woodys should have rmc treatment but others shouldn't and this is defo one that should be left as a pure woodie

​@@JacobEvans2It doesn't really seem like a financially viable option for a park of this size. The owners of the park (Aspro) don't make a huge amount of profit each year and they own more than just Oakwood. I can understand why this approach was made instead of the hybrid approach.

In my eyes they should have invested in something to attract people (either an RMC or similar to Flamingo Land with SIK) and use the revenues from the increased attendance to refurb Megaphobia. No wonder the park owner doesn’t make much money when they do nothing to attract people to the park. When Speed was build as Europe’s first coaster with a more than vertical drop, there was record attendance at the park (and with that loads of money).
