I'm guessing the camera captured the colors differently, because I took a colorblind test after this and passed it just to make sure (lol), and that barium flame definitely isn't yellow-green. It's a pale yellow.
@mr.anonymous12003 жыл бұрын
It's supposed to be greenish yellow .. That's why she was insisting on green colour but in the video it was just pale yellow.

Barium is actually supposed to be greenish yellow. I remember I did the test about a week ago and it gave a beautiful green (slightly yellow) colour.

I always love watching these videos. It helps to predict the color of compounds and oxides containing those elements. I assume Fe would burn bright red, and I know Cu burns light blue because Cupric sulfate is a blue-ish substance, and oxidation of copper pipes leaves a blue-green rust.

it the last the part during the copper flame the yelling jets in the centre are actually due to cross contamination by Barium. Barium and Strontium being heavy metals adhere to the wire and yes can interfere during other tests. It is therefore always better to clean your wire using Borax(di sodium tetra borate), by heating the wire with attached borax and then striking off the beads formed.
