this hurts, the levius manga looks and seems to be way better than the adaptation, with megalo box it had its own idea and felt more centered around actual boxing due to the actual main story point being about boxing which i could enjoy more and when watching levius i kept thinking about the manga

Read the manga of Levius it gets better but Levius is not just a boxing series but it’s a story about war, family and survival you were kinda off because it’s NOT a megalobox ripoff but it’s own series Don’t expect a great series like a masterpiece but a good show that’s fun to watch

Inside My Head I wouldn’t say it was boring but it does have its fair share of action fights which can be kinda cool but as a story it feels more on the lines of a wannabe ashita no joe inspired story and nothing new except the mechanical boxing concept which in this case has already been done by Levius in 2014 four years before megalobox but except Levius in the manga is mma and has pretty creative things like Cyberpunk styled show set in the 1800s a world which the 1800s is more technologically advanced now that’s creative I think I rather remember Levius more than megalobox because atleast it wants to leave an impression with an original story rather than a heavily inspired story

I STARTED watching Levius, but it just didn't really hold my attention. I agree with you on the steampunk aspect of it being cool, and I thought that the concept of showing that people who are handicapped can be badass was pretty unique too. TBH though I would have liked to see more emphasis placed on that - like maybe showing the trade-off for being able to punch through a brick wall is the psychological toll of not being able to feel any thing in your hand anymore. Like how much they miss simple things like being able to feel a cat's fur when you pet it, or the warmth of someone else's hand. I think that would make for an interesting contrast and if you're just tuning in for a show about punching somebody in the face with robot arms - WHAM! Right in the feels. Maybe even digging into somebody who intentionally cut off perfectly good & working arms just so they could get these prosthetics even? The art did seem a little lackluster and the writing was... well, I go on Netflix fairly regular and even though I know I didn't finish it (I got 4 episodes in, to the ex-soldier guy who was especially known for fighting dirty with the weird footwork iirc?), I had pretty much forgotten about having even started it until your video started on autoplay here. So nothing really special I guess.

I’d say if your a boxer or interested in the sport watch megalobox, even though it’s exaggerated it is a great representation of the sport, if you just want to watch another battle anime with some interesting battle mechanics (essentially magic) go with levius

I think the fight choreography and impact of the punches are much better in Levius. The fights in Levius are also more fast paced. Megalo has better art/aesthetic however

Nice opening with SF2 animated movie, a damn classic. I really enjoyed Levius but sadly it sits with Kengan Ashura and Last Man as underrated or unwatched by folks in my circles.

I disagree. Megalo box was extremely underwhelming for me. At first glance, megalo box appears to be more aesthetically pleasing. Not so much when they're in motion. Levius being purely CGI, you'd assume it wouldn't be as good in fight scenes, oddly enough, it's just better.. im not sure what it is, must be a combination with the great sound design. In the Aj v Hugo scene, it really felt like Hugo was getting pummeled

This review being about 2 boxing shows, I'd assume, the fight scenes are most important. As for story, I'd still give it to levius IMO. As for characters... Im not too fond over levius.. but I can safely say, I've enjoyed the characters in levius a lot more than in megalo box

Levius has better boxing, their techs limits plays a huge part in every match than Megalobox. Megalobox huge edge on story since its a bit grounded to ours while Levius wasn't about underdog story but quest for answers which can hit or miss.

Levius is unique from when he was born in his country. I didnt read the manga cause it might find me bored when they got a new season but its really a story
