X1: At first I didn't like this one. It didn't feel intimidating enough for boss music. I still kinda feel that way, but it is pretty catchy, and it does fit some bosses, particularly Armored Armadillo and Sting Chameleon. X2: More intimidating than the last one, but I think X1's had a more energetic and catchy beat. X3: Meh. It's intimidating, but it's extremely repetitive, just like X3's Maverick battles if you use the weakness weapons. X4: Now this is more like it. It feels similar to X1's in its catchiness, but it feels more intimidating. I think it fits Magma Dragoon especially. X5: My personal favorite of the bunch. This one has a tragic feel to it, and fittingly so. Most of these bosses are either forcefully turned Maverick or simply want to go down fighting. It's almost as if victory wouldn't be much of a victory. X6: I also didn't care for this one at first, but then I warmed up to it, mostly because of the guitar. Not the biggest fan of the ending, it sounds kinda jarring, but the main part of the song is energetic and catchy enough to entice me. X7: I honestly think this is the most underrated piece of music in the series. I looooove the beat here, and it feels very full of energy from beginning to end. I'd say it's my third favorite of this bunch. X8: This one frickin' rocks. See X3, THIS is how you do intimidating without being repetitive. This one is a blood-pumper, and my second favorite Maverick boss theme.

X4's holds a special place in my heart. Mega Man X4 and Breath of Fire 3 were the first two PS1 games I bought with my own money after getting the console. BoF3 remains my single favorite game of all time and the soundtracks to both are among my favorites.

X: A classic. You can't go wrong. X2: Not bad, but frantic-sounding. X3: I find this one static. The rest of X3's soundtrack is marvelous, but... X4: Mildly confusing. But very resolute at the same time. X5: My favorite. This is the kind of theme you hear when you fight your nemesis. Epic. X6: Same problem as X3's theme. It doesn't really move. X7: OK as a song. Bad as a boss theme. X8: Love it. Has a sense of anger to it, kind of like Lament of Innocence. Dynamic too. I picture a burning city.

X6: The music from this game is underrated: this boss song is deginitely my number two! The beginning is epic as hell! You can feel the grudge and wrath of the Investigators in this angry tune... Rawr! X7: As tubeshark said, it has its moments but overall not so great. It's still catchy enough, though X8: FLAWLESS! Personal favorite, instant win, awesome from the beginning to the end... I love the echoey effect and the bass line, and pretty much everything about this song

X1: It feels like you've interrupted a bad guy doing bad stuff and now he's hella mad at you and will take you down. X2: Sounds like the bosses are challenging me to see how far I can survive their alleged supremacy. X3: The first one that made me feel truly threatened by the boss, rather than challenged. It justs naturally brings a big amount of pressure. X4: Sounds like I'm dealing with something serious, different from the regular enemies I've fought so far. Someone with great and challenging powers is about to confront me. X5: *_The absolute best_* It really feels like fighting for your life with a real uncertainty if you're making it to the end of that battle. X6: Feels challenging, sort of like X2, as if the boss is putting me down and testing how far I can survive. X7: Feels like I'm deciding the final outcome of things. I have to beat this one boss in order to save everything and come out of everything alright. No easy task... but I can do it. X8: Strangely... this theme seems to give power to myself. Like X saying "It's time to get serious!". As it the boss provoked me to the point of unleashing my ultimate force on them.

X1: Excellent. Sounds adrenaline flowing, and suspenseful at the same time. X2: Pretty good. Gets me pumped every time I listen to it. X3: Not bad, but it's just a five second loop that goes on for eternity. But it's not bad. It gives off a tense feeling. X4: Sounds rather bland and generic for my taste. I feel not much effort was put into it. X5: Not the best I heard. But it's at least better than the theme from X4. X6: Pretty good. I like that techno sound to its beat and rhythm. X7: Hmmm... Not bad. It certainly has a nice catchy melody to it. X8: I absolutely love this track. The heavy metal vibe with the guitar riffs makes this one my all time favorite boss battle track.

X1: Amazing. Too bad there are no good remixes of it. X2: Pretty alright. Get's me pumped. X3: Just like all of X3s other music, it's too short, so it loops too often. Way too boring. X4: Good, but needs less squealy instruments. X5: Fantastic. It has this nice oddly serene feeling that really highlights the raised steaks in X5. X6: Pretty good. Oddly calm, though. I do love that 70s cop show sound going on in the back. X7: Interesting. Certanly different and has a good melody. Maybe with some different instruments... X8: Too much guitar, but good song overall.

X2's boss theme is AWESOME, just slightly less than X1. The game just needed more "active" bosses, you get what i mean, such as Sting Chameleon. The ones that are very active.
