I love the difference in how X and Zero have to fight bosses, it really shows how much effort was put into them, you can’t just spam bosses to death with a weakness nor just face tank them to death. You actually have to dodge and find openings.

Then rabi-ribi is a game you will probably love, it's a metroidvania but the character has an X-buster and a hammer instead of a sword, can air dash, walljump and all of that stuff, X combined with Zero in it's unique way.. what you described is what all of it's bosses are, the developer is a big fan of X5, yes i know the game looks like weeb trash and i ignored it for 4 years for that reason, that was a big mistake, just ignore it's appeareance,i guarantee you will like if you're a megaman junkie, no joke it's one of the best platformers in the entire genre but is often ignore because of how it looks, and has one of the best soundtracks i have ever heard, one in particular is a reference to a X5 song.

X4-X6 was horribly broken for Zero because of all the cheesy ways you could bypass enemy invincible frames and just cut them to pieces in seconds.

@@Violent_Wolfen He's talking about that but mostly about the slash dash cancel. the slashes are cancellable into a dash and the dash into a slash which makes that possible, they did that for the purpose of making zero feel more responsive but at the cost of having broken stuff like that, if you remove the cancel then zero feels more clunky because you have to wait for him to finish the move to gain control again, if you remove that some of his slashes ignore invincibility then you could only hit bosses once and the 2 slashes after the first one wouldn't hit and that would suck. I just wonder how JKB will deal with that issue, each solution have it's sideeffects. I think i saw him say somewhere that he didn't like the infinite.

He already looks a lot more fun to fight than the original where he just pranced around with his clone and sometimes threw stuff at you. His Overdrive attack has a very MegaMari feel to it. And parts of this fight almost seem a bit Wire Sponge inspired, namely the whip attack.

I love the choreography of this🔥 Zeroes combos and how he weaves out the way of axles attacks, that duck u did mid combo the MOMENT he threw the whip out was NASTY Then when u threw the boomerang blade between both of them the MOMENT Axle split in 2? The spin slash when u got in between them? The double jump over the rose petals to dodge them? The way u casually sat there and slashed away the spike balls? Even Axle using his whips as a shield AND his clones dashing in was a good addition. U slashed him then flipped over him. Imma definitely be a Zero main again😂 Bro has TOO much sauce🤧👌🏽
