So he really isn't playing the game like the average gamer... But, even for tool-assisted, it's a VERY good run! Keep up the good work, rogueyoshi!

The completition time is 31:42. TAS timing is from powering on the game until the last input needed to beat it. Ignore the length of the video encode, that one doesn't matter.

Look in the video description. You download an emulator for the game, then slow it down and play it throughout. You also use "save states" which saves every little bit you do, so if you mess up you can go back to where you were and try again. When you finish the speed run you speed the finished product up to normal speed to look as if the player(s) were as fast as they are at reacting and playing the game.

@SiriusPP Becouse hes dashing when he shots or holding the dash button. Its something present in MMX and MMX2 only. Your normal pellet shots deals more damage while dashing. not sure if this is a programing mistake or not but oh well.

@MorlonX If there isn't anything in that room that means you didn't get every upgrade in the game, that only appears if you've gotten 100% of the upgrades X can have in this game, all 8 heart tanks, sub tanks and parts you also need to be at full health, I suggest using a sub tank if you take a hit where the extra life is.

how do you get the sub tank in bubble craps level without any weapon upgrades? i try to get up there, but can never jump that high, i know this is a TAS, but ive seen it done in other runs as well.. any ideas on how this works?

I believe everything needs to be full... not sure if that includes energy tanks or not, but definitely your healthbar. Also its straight, down, straight+down then one of the buttons. I'd assume fire.

@angeldust117 That's actually one of the easiest things to do in this TAS. You can jump higher while walking down that slope, jump as soon as you start walking into the slope and you can hit that little wall, then just dash jump off the wall and mash the jump button to get above the water and get the e-tank.

basically, "luck" in these games are all algorhytms with various outcomes depending on the actions of the player. These can be memorized to a degree to give a player an advantage.

Do you even understand what the whole point of a TAS is in the first place? It's even in the description: Tool Assisted - these games are played using a emulator at super slow speeds and save states. The goal is to provide entertainment by showing off game glitches and beating the game as fast as possible.

get all subtanks, armors, and heart tanks, go to the spot where it located at with full health (sub tanks do not need to be full so use that to max it up) and it should be there. if you dont understand look at my x-hunter stage 3 vid.

According to the video details, one of the criteria for this speed run was to use save states. So the player is probably not this good normally. Maybe they are, but they also might've used save states to get the best possible playthrough. :)

not really. in mmx1 and mmx2, while your still dashing (ground or dash jump) the yellow shots actularry become as strong as then grade 2 charge shot (blue in x1 pink and blue in x2).

I take that back the first comment was right, they played this on super slow speed on an emulator, and they used save states so if they messed up they could go back and fix it with out you noticing

True, they did use super slow speed and save state, but your x buster will do more damage if you shoot while dashing, even if it isn't charged.

it's not a speedrun done by someone with a pad. It's a tool-assisted speedrun, read the description. btw the World Record for a speedrun on this game is pretty damn impressive too (33:14 by exosda)

I agree, Zero's parts are collectable items so they should have been included in the run. I'm sure the player could have used savestates to make sure the X Hunters landed in stages he wanted.

A keyboard can only have 3 keys pressed simultaneously at once. I would look up a keyboard that allows more (they exist) or get a gamepad.
