So clearly your options are "aggressive destruction" or "literally eight billion projectiles a second in every direction so you'll EVENTUALLY kill something no matter what." Mamizou still has the weirdest danmaku.

I actuality want to talk about one of the combos that actually got me pretty far. Fraudsters Rabbit's Foot, Danmaku Ghost, and Miser's Advice. You wouldn't think a bigger graze hitbox would be that useful, but it's significantly bigger. Means you don't have to deploy the magic circle to get lots of Bullet Money on aimed patterns... or just really dense stuff. And Danmaku Ghost makes it less dense... after spawning that bullet money. Saved my butt a significant number of times, and let me buy quite a bit of other cards, too. They seem to come up often enough to give lots of money, so there's no need to worry about it coming up in the shop.

Something I personally find fascinating about Fraudster Rabbit's Foot too is that the graze box is considered to be a stat, like other ones such as shot attack, speed, etc. But it's the only card in the game to utilize it. Pretty wild, though given this synergy already feels pretty powerful I think a stackable version might be overkill lol. Nice find

Can't you just delete player data and deactivate temporarily steam cloud?

player data is the "score.dat" (iirc) file in AppData/Roaming/ShanghaiAlice/th185

@@YoannBB I couldn't find anything in game to reset data. Usually its in the same spot as the achievements but it wasnt there.

The Mamizou card + Suwako explosions combo (or Saki card if I needed resiliency over power) was my key to victory when starting with a Junko card for grinding out the remaining cards. Mamizou card is so good. Literally all the power you'll ever need cuz there's no power loss on death I find it fascinating how often you stack equipment instead of shot power. I never really thought equipment was that useful, I feel like an equipment attack stat a la the shot attack stat would've been nice to have and made those cards a lot better EDIT: Just took a look at the updated translation, I learned something new Narumi's card has this line at the bottom that wasn't there a while ago... "*Also boosts the shot power of Equipment Cards." Well shit lmao

On top of what you noticed, a big part of why I stack equipment cards is that I found that getting various spread shots helps _immensely_ in the stages. Since I'm constantly dealing with, particularly bulky fairies that don't go down near as fast as they do in normal Touhou games. And with them coming from all over, I need more shots that go all over.

I'm a little surprised they didn't make an appearance this game, to be honest... Misumaru especially, considering one of the key ingredients of the Ability Cards is Dragon Gems. As this "incident" concerns the cards, you'd think she'd be more invested in this, also attempting to hoard the cards to undo the "damage" Chimata and Iizunamaru did.

If double Hellish Fairy is a date, then Hellish Fairy + Big Fairy is Bring Your Daughter To Work Day. And here's where I put my obligatory complaint of "gee, Suika, how come ZUN lets you be in every spin-off game he's developed aside from GFW?". Seriously, I'm kinda tired at this point. Mystia didn't even get a single chance (no, PoFV is not a spin-off, after all), but Suika was the only character that got to be in both StB _and_ DS? God. Anyway, Mamizou is an actual pain in the ass if you're doing just the boss. I know I sound like a broken record about the Junko card at this point, and I mean, yeah, Mamizou broke me, alright. Her second spell is an absolute nightmare with how it gets faster and faster. Also do not ask how the hell Suika's movement on her second spell works at all. I'm not even gonna pretend to know how it does. Momoyo is a very good boss if you're doing money scoring. One notable card, and that's Gluttonous Centipede. Does what it says on the tin, and it's perfect for long markets. Reliable Tanuki Apprentice is also notable, but that one is so obvious I feel like it's not really all that worth mentioning. 16:03 I have the feeling Bee played one of the FDF ports. Those are the only arcade machine Touhou games I know of, anyway.

Yea... I get suika is popular and all but it gets a bit boring after a while. Not to mention she got meaty roles in one of the latest mangas AND in UDoALG. Neither Kokoro nor the Yorigami sisters got to be in a danmaku game AT ALL.

@@MaskedBeeX Lucky you, Exa-Arcadia machines are *not* very common lol. The only place I've been able to try that port is at a convention, I don't think my local arcade has one

This stage was an utter nightmare for me. I was having problems even getting to the boss a lot of the time, and when I got there I barely had time to figure out anything before getting got. I wound up having dig through earlier stages trying to find the Junko card and then just went hard on labbing out the spells. LET ME TELL YOU, going straight into these bosses without a bunch of power-based things makes them go on for a long ass time and it could get really rough; Saki's first spell in particular takes a very long time and the way the bullets start fanning out can vary a lot. I think I eventually tried building up some cards and then hoping for Junko to show up mid stage I know the one I wound up beating was Suika, though I can't remember if that was a Junko rushdown or not. in contrast the remainder of the game was a first time clear. Suitably wonky difficulty curve for this wonky game.
