Es porque tocaba temas religiosos y hay que recordar que en estos tiempos de los primeros juegos, esos temas eran tratados como una clase de taboo, Solamente en el megami tensei II ya matas a YHVH (dios) y te alías con Lucifer, lo mismo puede pasar en el SMT I (lo de aliarse con Lucifer) y en el SMT II vuelves a matar a dios en todas las rutas, incluso Satan, que se supone en el juego era la mano derecha de YHVH, lo traiciona diciendole que Aunque haya purgado al mundo, aún debe purgar a una última persona que cometió el pecado más grave: genocidio, y Procede a atacarlo junto al protagonista. Imagínate si esas cosas hubieran estado Fuera de japón en esos tiempos (80-90's) no hubieran sido bien recibidas y hubiera ocasionado pérdidas, con decirte que decían que Pokemon era satánico

Why? Nocturne was PS2 exclusive, SJ was DS exclusive, Persona series is PlayStation systems exclusive, IV and IV Apocalypse are 3DS exclusive, TMS#FE is WiiU exclusive... Megaten is (almost) always exclusive. And since later SMT games are Nintendo systems exclusive, naturally the next one would be too.

@@puzzle_boy Honestly I'm not very sure why their games still tend to be exclusives. The further back in time, the more difficult it was to port games I assume. And an RPG usually has a huge amount of content anyway. But nowadays hardware among platforms are so similar and/or generic (so no issues like Saturn or early PS3 had), and there also are the third party game engines. Only think I'd think about is the owner of the target platform is gonna make a good advertisement for the games. (And Nintendo BETTER does that when SMT V is ready to be released)

In Japan there are 8 million PS4 and 13 million switch sold. In week march16-22 there are 129,473 switch, 263,103 switch lite, and 11,156 PS4, 4,237 PS4 pro sold (source: famitsu) ... yes 390000 vs 15000 This is why, if someone like anime games/jrpgs the switch is a must buy system.

A lot of the games in this video don't have SMT in their names in any region (Ronde, DDS, Jack Bros, Another Bible, Majin Tensei, some Persona), but the name isn't really important, they're all acknowledged as being part of the same overall "franchise" which is just called SMT or MegaTen for convenience.

Persona and Megaten is different franchise with different genre and targets. All of Megaten game will tell you about apocalypse and the rising of demon. There will factions too (chaos-neutral-law). Basically the mc will chose between these factions which will determine how the apocalypse will end. And almost all personas games didn't share this common goal.
