I was never the popular girl in my high school or was part of the popular group in school but I was fine. I don't see the need to have a lot of friends. I only have a few friends and I am perfectly happy because my friends are true and sincere. Also, in my high school, having brains was more important than having beauty.

I don't get this either. They only think about how they look than thinking about how their friends treat them or even education. Intelligence brings you furhter in life than beauty.

I never joke about anyone's weight or look, EVER. Because I know how it feels being pointed out because of my weight. And I have always been underweight, and I hated it. People used to grab my arm and measure how tight they got their hand around my wrist. Then there would always be that comment: "How can someone be so skinny?" or "You are like skin and bones" etc. And the fact that people thought that I was anorectic, when I never was, I often got all the comments about how thin I was, like they thought I didn't already know....like they thought they helped me by pointing it out (because an anorectic person wouldn't be able to tell, and that's what they thought I was). When I got the courage to tell them what I thought about their comments they just rolled their eyes. They did not believe any word that I had just told them. Because everyone thought: Why in the world would someone complain about being skinny when the rest of the world wants to be skinny, are going crazy over dieting or just looks up to those skinny models on tv. So here I was, with no one who understood how bad it felt to hear all the comments, to never find a non-baggy pair of pants, to look like a flat seven year old girl with no boobs when the other girls in the class were getting curves, to hate swimming because it ment that I had to show my naked and boney body with a thight swimming suit on and having nowhere to hide from all those staring eyes. I hope this make people think about what is being written on their keybords by their hands, or the words that comes out of their mouth. It does matter, every...little...word. So choose your words wisely. They will matter in the future. Not just now. Your own life is being shaped by your own words. Want to bully? Well, don't expect anything good from your future, because your victim might just happen to be your boss later in life. And that will matter.

I can't believe that the popular girls can't see how bullying affects someone's life - especially those beautiful, innocent girls. I am not trying to bash any of them - they are all beautiful, but the bullies are far from beautiful on the inside. Just my opinion.

Since primary school, I've been bullied about my height (im shorter than most people) and my weight. I am now in my final year of high school, and one thing that I have learnt is that if you don't believe in yourself and accept who you are, NO ONE ELSE WILL! I know it's easier said than done (although ive managed to do it), but stop worrying so much about what other people think of you! High school popularity is not the be all and end all of life! I've actually realized that I stopped caring about other people's opinions about me because before, that was the only thing that was stopping me from living my life.

The girl that talked about how everyone told her she was pretty when she was younger, i can NOT believe that people are calling her ugly now.. seriously, she has such a beautiful face! And the girl at the end that made me cry, i would kill for her hair. That is my opinion =)

She's right. Once you get out of high school everything is going to be different. The things ppl say about you and think about you are going to be irrelevant cuz you're number one thing is surviving in the real world. Once it comes to your life, you tend to not care about other ppl's opinions about you or what group you fit in....it's the truth to a lot of people. However, Some people are stuck in high school mode even after graduating. I call those ppl childish....

I'm not trying to sound cocky, or self-absorbed, but being on of the 'popular girls' at my school, I know that not every popular person is like that. I feel like they're generalizing every 'popular' girl/group picks on or teases people because of the way they look. I know that if me and my friends were in the cafeteria and we saw or heard someone doing that, we would definitely give that person a piece of our minds.

Ever since I was little, people have called me fat and ugly. So I understand what these girls go through. These years of bullying has led me to grow and become confident. Sure, some days feel crappy but I've gotten stronger from that. And to the bullies, one day you will regret everything you have said. In the end it does not matter how popular you are in school, people change and grow up. And I just want add that both Megan Fox and Christian Bale were bullied at school so there you go.

I was bullied about my weight for the longest time. It didn't really bother me until people I didn't know started making comments about it. I finally got a physical, and my doctor told me I had bad cholesterol - so I made a change.I didn't cry about it, I didn't complain about the past, I just simply took out the effort to LOSE WEIGHT. I have a small school with about 140 people in my grade but there is still pretty much the same form as most stereotypical schools. I think that no matter where you go there will always be the 'alphas', the 'betas' and the 'omegas'. It's just how human nature is. However, just like girls with their periods, you can't let nature get you down. Stay strong because if you focus on learning (what school is actually for) instead of popularity you'll succeed after school.

I had a much different experience - I went to an all-girls' boarding school of around 300 people. So 'popularity', the word existed but it really meant the girls who got the best grades and wore nice clothes or were good athletes or always got awards etc. So 'popular' to me is a rather - obsolete - term. Now, I'm in a massive college and I'm not 'popular' but a lot of people know me. I agree - me being friendly and outgoing was the first thing people NOTICED and LIKED about me. It was enough :)
