She climbs at my local gym SCC. She’s still incredibly strong and always has her dog with her haha she’s so nice and I NEVER knew she competed at such a high level...hope she gets back to it!

Ahah, certainly did not expect to find my reddit post from two years ago featured in your video, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only fan of Megan's climbing style. She really was one of the best competitors in the world in the two years where she did competitions on the main circuit. She still posts some climbing videos here and there on her Instagram but competing does not seem to appeal to her anymore. Anyway, great work as always! And subscribed now.

I grew up in Colorado Springs going to SCC, the local climbing gym operated by the Mascarenas family. Megan was always a gentle, introverted person, although one of the kindest and most humble I’ve ever met. As Megan improved to competition climbing, she became a local celebrity and people would climb at SCC just to talk to her and watch her. Being the kind person she was, she always engaged with everyone. But I think the fame became overwhelming and exhausting, and started to detract from the joy she found in climbing. Now, she has finally begun to outgrow her fame and seems to be doing much better in school and climbing the things she wants to climb, on her own time, without the pressure of competition. She’s awesome, and I’m glad that she’s happier (although we won’t get to see as many insane toe hooks in competition :/ )

I remember seeing other climbers, like Alex Puccio doing a route that was dynamic or just required a lot of strength, and then Megan would go and do it in a controlled static method that just looked like the best way to me.

Most of the time, I have no idea, what you are talking about. But the way you show other peoples' accomplishments is unique. I love the fact that you show not only amazing feats of strength, but also describe incredible personalities and in a way encourage to take something with me: achieving goals is all about the way YOU wanna do it, not the way it's supposed to do. Rockstars, huh? We had a rehearsal room in the church basement where was also a boulder wall. There was enough space for both activities. Climbers joked that it's the only boulder with live music, but today I learned that it's not that unusual. ;)
