So not much at all wrong with the car if that's the stuff you can come up with. Also, the regen paddles are meant to be adjusted all the time. That's why they're paddles, and not a button or menu item. I have those on an Ioniq, and they are there to allow control of speed when going downhill, as well as arriving to traffic lights smoothly, ideally maximising regen while also rolling to avoid a full stop. I actually find it engaging and fun to drive like that, and it wouldn't be as easy without the paddles.

I am driving a Megane E-Tech Techno. Its brand new. Dislikes are as follows- The range is way below any other EV I've driven with a 60kWh battery. My previous daily driving car was a 64kWh Hyundai Kona that could do 100 miles further in range than the Megane. That's driving for economy, I'm not a novice. I hate the key fob, though its not a real key fob as I cant attach my house keys to it. The performance is great but I can't use it when I'm trying to get some distance driving. On the positive side, I think it looks really good, it's very quiet and comfortable. The infotainment system works well, but the sound quality is average. I have to say, I like it more than the Hyundai, but the range is really the big disappointment. I can see me getting 160 miles max in the winter.

The key is horrible yes but you never ever need it to open or close the car so it is in your pocket. But no regenerative Braking is the most efficient way to drive! so never brake only it is absolutely necessary! you have more space when you adjust your driver seat correctly (You are sitting wrong elbow 90 degree angle) The QI Charger you can put very easy inside and with one finger you can swipe it out. Maybay it because of your Iphone.. The wrong phone 🙂

Haha...the wrong phone? How can a phone be wrong all phones are shaped the same. 😂 I only run android no iPhones for me sir. 🙂 I always drive with full regen. That's the way to go if you are used to EVs. You adjust everything with one pedal and that both saves the longivity of the brakes and is better for the environment. Takes a bit more time to get used to though. I only set it to low/none if I want to coast but than it's better to set it in neutral. Thanks for watching. 👍

@@ItsOnlyElectric you are loosing up to 50% of energy... Regen is not as much efficient you think. I mostly drive without regen so in city Rush hour I can go with under 90Wh/100km. The main achievement is you do not using the breaks an convert it to heat.if you're driving to a traffic light and you don't have to brake immediately, then it's more efficient to drive without regenerative breaking.. you need more energy to accelerate again what you are brake. @@TedCornish Oh wow it's been a year already! Ok firstly I'd recommend the vehicle itself 1000%, it's all round great in terms of driving, sports mode will scare you.. the vehicle absolutely takes off and throws you back into the seat whenever you want it to, in comfort mode it's silent and very easy to drive or switch on the self drive mode and relax, it works well I just wish they synced it with Google maps so it could drive itself fully on roundabouts and recognise traffic lights. The only few bad points I could say about it is that the boot lid design makes rain water drip on your head or into the boot when you open it, the self drive system brakes too sharply when coming to a stop and Renault customer service is not great so make sure your windscreen isn't cracked below the bonnet as it's a common issue. But overall an incredible vehicle, it gets a lot of compliments from people but keep in mind it's more of a hatchback than an SUV and looks bigger in pictures

It was a straight choice between a Tesla Model 3 or the Megane, both were the same price.....No contest! The sterile, poor build quality, horrid interior, ugly Tesla is so dated compared to the Renault. It's tech is so 'yesterday'. Brilliant move by Renault going to the experts, Google! By the way, Renault say the 0-60 time is 7.5 Sec, but independent reviewers have clocked it at 6.9 Sec (that's Mini Cooper S territory, but with that lovely instant torque).......how typically French, underplaying!

@PierreDybman Жыл бұрын
I just tested one yesterday. Nice handling, good comfort, engine accelerates well, and the screens are also very good. But the main reason we will not consider it anymore is the boot. It is ridiculously deep with a very high step, making it very unpractical to transport our large subwoofer cube (50 cm by 50 cm and 50 kg). And i will also regret there is no real one pedal mode, and that there is no marking on the pedals to explain which one increases the regen, and which one cancels it. Last gripe, the ridiculous number of satellites on the right side of the steering wheel, two’s company, three’s a crowd.

If you put your hand in, to take the phone and grad it between your fingers and your thumb it's easy, you have issues because you try to take it in a non convenient way. We call that having two left hands (when you are right handed) 😉 I do not agree with the non use of the power button. It's not because Tesla remove it that it is the best way. For exemple all the time you spent in the car without driving do not need to turn the full power on and you save energy, instead of turning all the power on as soon as you get in, even if you are just waiting in the car. Here you have OFF, ON for just the minimum, of full ON. Tesla is only full ON. About the paddles, I think that you didn't understand the purpose of it. It's to optimise the consumption. Your are paradoxal because you want it to be at the max all the time when it's not the best way to optimise and in the same time you think that it's great to have some paddles to adjust the regeneration.
@ItsOnlyElectric Жыл бұрын
Great input! No, I don't have 2 left hands. Pretty handy I must say so that mot the reason. I have big hands though. But nevertheless it's a small area and could have been better designed. 🙂 When it comes to the power button it's all about software and LEAN Thinking. 99% of the cases I jump in to the car and drive. For that reason it should be enough to hold the brake, set it to drive or reverse and just drive. So that means that in 99% of the cases the button is not needed. But that doesn't mean that you must remove it. They just need to bee a nit smarter with their software. The VW Id3 also has a start/stop button but you don't need to use it in this scenario. Just a bit more clever implementation. But don't get me wrong, I really like the E-Tech and this is just small caveats. Thanks for watching
