Got one, MY 22 EV60/160KW Techno with AR package, but not with HK sound system, which is odd as the previous owner had checked most lof the equipment for the vehicle but not the hifi system.

I’ve had mine in exactly the same spec and colour since May and I absolutely love it. It’s a great drive nice progressive power delivery and so far ticks all the boxes. So far my first venture of the world of EV’s has been a good one and I do think that Renault provide better value for cost. specification and quality than other European manufacturers.

Renault really are nailing design just now, got to be one of the best looking cars on the road today 👌
@siasek3 ай бұрын
I agree, everything about this car is nice, inside and out. But honestly, I'd love to have 18-inch wheels with a higher profile. After all, we have some pretty potholed roads in this country. The Megane is comfortable even on 20", but I imagine on 18" it would be like riding on a cloud!

I have ordered my Scenic Iconic… still unsure if I needed the bigger car as I loved this Megane at my visit to the Renault. Great review, thanks.
@siasek2 ай бұрын
The Scenic is absolutely great, unfortunately it was much more expensive to lease than the Megane, even at a similar purchase price. What I really like about the Megane is how much room it has and how big the boot is, considering how short it is! Average Europeans can fit into it with no problems at all, we often take 4 people out for lunch and no one complains about space, which I honestly didn't expect when I saw the reviews.😄 I certainly can't confirm that there's not enough room in the back. Otherwise the software and everything else is amazing, I don't mind the front wheel drive at all, as it's very well tuned. I'd say the 220k is just right for front drive with wider tires. Basically, I just love the car overall! Quite the opposite of my previous e-C4 😁

I am missing rear seats armrest the most. I am super happy with google system, functional, fast response, journey charging planner, google maps etc, very nice! However in the winter time - the manual opening of rear door gets your hands or gloves dirty. Also the side doors not covering the whole area so your pants can get dirty as well when entering or leaving the car. Otherwise I am very happy with my car! I would like to know, what would be the difference in accelaration and in energy consumption when using 18” wheels instead of 20”. Are you interested in such test?
@siasek26 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience! We’ve had the exact same experiences. When getting out, I’m always careful to keep my pants clean by stepping far enough away from the door sill. And opening the rear hatch in winter is such a pain, I always end up with a dirty finger! It’s such a shame there isn’t another way to open it. Replacing the small dirty button with something easier to use would make all the difference. Once it’s open, it’s no problem, it’s just that annoying little button! 😄 I ended up buying Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 tires, and they feel better than summer tires, softer and more comfortable to drive on. I love them! But I’d really like to try the Megane with 18” wheels, it must feel like riding on a cloud. Considering how comfortable it already is on the massive 20” wheels, it’s hard to believe it could get better. I’ve tried to find 18” ones, but no luck so far. Overall, I’m very happy with the car too. The infotainment system is simply divine. Renault really saved costs only in areas that don’t bother me much, they’ve done an amazing job with this car. 😊

The phone heating up is just a feature of inductive wireless charging. The bigger the distance, the hotter the phone gets. Phones also heat up when charging with a cable but it is certainly worse when wireless charging.
@siasek12 күн бұрын
Oh yeah, totally! Wireless charging always generates heat, but the more misaligned the coils are, the worse it gets. Some phones manage heat better than others, but it's definitely more noticeable than wired charging. I've tested multiple phones, and with wireless Android Auto, it always ends up the same-within minutes, the phone overheats. I really wonder how manufacturers test this… probably not at all. So while I do use wireless Android Auto, I still plug in a charging cable, routed neatly along the driver’s seat from the rear USB port. That way, it doesn’t get in the way. Do you use wireless charging often, or do you prefer a cable?

in the UK this is the ICONIC trim, the Techno dosnt have the 360 camera or upgraded stereo or self park option

I'm actually sorry about that, because I didn't want the leather seats (without ventilation) that are in the Iconic. We have a package that make the techno an Iconic, except for the seats.They do lack seat tilt adjustment! But I think I'll get used to it.

Hey Bill, thank you! I really love it so far, a definite step up from my e-C4. I'm really enjoying all the little touches in the interior and most importantly I love driving it! I feel much more sure taking sharp turns or driving it on winding roads than I did in the Citroën. Reminds me of my e-Golf!

The armrest also moves forward when pulled, so you can mostly cover the coin hole. Os your vehicle brand new, or just new to you? The front UI of the speed gauge looks like old design, I thought MY24 / 25 would have the new design.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that out! It's brand new, 9/2024 production. I think Renault can change the design of anything in the infotainment with updates...

It is still a bit beautiful :-)🙃 as soon as i have reset the airbag control unit and replaced the four split 20”😗 aluminum rims, there will be a test drive on the flower meadow. Oh no, sorry to hear about your Megane! That sounds like a rough situation. 🫤 Not the best way to get to know your car, for sure. I have to say that I really love driving it so far, aside from the couple small quirks. It has a great feel to it and I feel very sure driving on winding country roads, even at high speeds, which is something I could never enjoy with my Citroen e-C4 I had previously. And the infotainment is really just wonderful. Thanks for the kind words about the video and I hope you can get your Megane sorted out soon and enjoy the ride as well! ❤️

@siasek3 ай бұрын
I really love driving it! It's smooth and best of all I feel very sure driving fast on winding country roads, which is something I really missed in my e-C4. It just stays glued to the road and goes exactly where you want. It reminds me of driving the Polestar 2, for example, which I also loved. And the fast, responsive infotainment on the big screen is really a dream 🤩 It works unbelieavebly well.

Hello from Denmark, I am waiting for the new Renault 5 but I have heard it in techno model will cost just a little under the Megane/techno, who is just a little bit larger and have better room in the backseat. The overheating of the phone might be caused by your phone having automatic wi-fi sharing enabled - it takes quite a lot of power
@siasek3 ай бұрын
It happens when using wireless Android Auto, it's a mistake that the charger doesn't have a cooling mechanism. Basically, I don't use it at all anymore, because charging via cable (plugged into the rear USB-C and routed along the seat so it doesn't get tangled everywhere) is a better solution. So in the end, the wireless charger just serves as a phone holder, but I lay it on there differently than the designers intended, of course.😄 (like portrait orientation instead of landscape)

Congrats! Nice car. I'm thinking of buying an electric car next year. I like the Megane but also the new Kia EV3 and eC4. Would you recommend the eC4? Thank you!
@siasek4 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment! I'd say a lot of it comes down to price. I bought the e-C4 a year and a half ago when there was nothing as well-equipped availabel for a comparable or better price. The Megane E-tech is in a completely different league; the interior quality is more premium, which really can't be said about the e-C4 (hard and black shiny plastics everywhere). The e-C4 I had, manufactured in 2021, can't even show battery charge percentage. The app has been unreliable and slow for a year and a half. Whenever I needed to turn on the air conditioning or heating remotely, it didn't work. Meanwhile in the Megane, it works in real time with no waiting around. I think that people who don't worry about much of anything and just get in the car and drive can be well satisfied with the e-C4. Its infotainment is pretty slow and outdated. But also I think that you can buy the e-C4 for much cheaper than the E-tech. Personally, I'm glad I don't have it anymore and I was really looking forward to replacing it. Another funny thing is how Citroen boasts about a comfortable suspension and hydraulic bump stops in the e-C4... It has tall 18" wheels with a 65 profile... Yet the Megane with 20" wheels with a very low 45 profile is much more comfortable irl. I give a big thumbs up to Renault's suspension engineers. The consumption so far looks like 15 vs 18 kWh/100 km, but I've had the car for two days, so that's just the very first impression.

I've got one, it's great but not perfect. The interior is gloomy, a glass roof option would be ideal to lighten it up. The black headlining doesn't help at all, it needs lighter shades in there. There's a few other poor design features which I'm surprised Renault did, as they are really good at design.
@siasek7 күн бұрын
That's a fair point, a glass roof would definitely help brighten up the interior. That said, I personally don’t really miss having a glass roof and have been quite alright with the interior... we'll see if my feelings change come summer. 😄 IMO an electric tailgate would be a great addition, especially in winter-it’s really annoying having to press the dirty button on the tailgate to open it.

Das Handy wird heiß beim Laden. Das Laden wird aber gestoppt, wenn es zu warm wird. Das CarPlay damit zu tun hat würde ich verneinen.
@siasek12 күн бұрын
