What we’re all getting at in the comments is the distinction between “freebies” and “free.” Freebies refer to websites that require sign-up and offer very limited options, and even make you sign up to keep downloading their freebies OR they limit the amount of things you can download in a 24 hour period. When we say “free,” we mean a site where everything is accessible without signing up or limitations. For instance, Icon Duck offers all its icons for free without any sign-up required. In contrast, Free Icons IO does provide some free icons, but after a certain number of downloads, you must sign up to continue downloading, and a significant portion of their offerings is reserved for premium accounts. So, those are more like “freebies” than truly “free.” Hence people feeling deceived by this video.
