Now with all 3 Legends games rereleased on PSN (at least in the US, let's give our European comrades some love, alright Capcom?) and everybody all caught up on the plot...maybe we could revitalize Legends 3? Wouldn't be too much to ask. At least release the Prototype Demo.

I don't care what people think about Inafune I'm hyped for Red Ash since it has AAA budget. People who own PS4, Xbox One, and PC won't be left out. Everyone should buy Red Ash since it's no longer a Kickstarter indie game. Comcept has made more original stuff than what Capcom has despite the lack of a marketing division and higher-ups who fund projects. The way how Comcept is working outside of Kickstarter is what old Capcom used to work. Soul Sacrifice was great, Red Ash is going to be great and Sony's jrpg Teruhiro Shimogawa and Shinsuke Komaki are involved with. Already three new IPs and zero from Capcpom.

Interestingly enough, this game was the one that attracted me to classical music. Back then there were no internet nor KZbin to look for information on the types of music. I had to remember the tune and the melody and ask around what song it was. Damn. Can't believe it has been more than 20 years now. The camera is much more cinematic as well. More cuts, a wider variety of shots, and more dynamic camera movements - you can definitely tell they had a better grip on the technology they're working with when comparing it to the first game.

When you take all of these cutscenes and all of the people you talk to, the books and papers you read, and all of the lore into account, you can't help but empathize with Roll and Mega Man... oh, especially Roll - she lost EVERYTHING! Her parents, her best friend (and crush - c'mon, we all know he treat her right - we all know he was a great kid) and possibly, the will to "be." Remember that if it weren't for Mega Man, Roll wouldn't have been able to do anything she ever did. They're loose ends without each other, and this is demonstrated not through just exposition, but by those small moments; they motivate each other ("Let's go check it out ourselves"), they confide in each other ("I was feeling down before, and...") they enjoy small moments of playful banter together ("Guess what's for dinner, MegaMan--it's your favorite, pizza!") - even the smallest details show how (seemingly) unbreakable their bond is! Now, that bond is put to the ultimate test - ("I'm not scared! I know we'll see each other again soon"; "I know Roll... She'll come looking for us - no matter what happens!") Will she? And what if she can't? What then? And don't even get me started on her parents - especially her father (By the way, FUCK Joe)! So close, but then they were taken from her again by fate! They were the whole reason she started her search for the Mother Lode to begin with! And now, the most important person in her life is gone, too! This is a girl who has lost everything! She's not allowed to build the rocket, her father started was remembering who he was, but decided to move on with a new family (cheatin' shitwhistle), and now she has no more hope for anything! Want the game or not, Roll Caskett is a tragedy worthy of Shakespeare! Inafune, you wanted to finish the Legends 3 project? Do it! Do it in secret, if you have to! Don't let anyone know - not even Capcom! Don't kickstart it, don't pull all the crap you pulled with Mighty No. 9 - just work on the game until YOU are happy with it, it works well, and then unleash it upon the world, whether it be pirate-ware or you somehow manage to get Capcom's permission to publish it officilaly - JUST DO IT. BE A REBEL.

I went to replay this recently and I'm honestly really surprised at how much this game holds up to modern standards. Fully voiced cutscenes with colorful and detailed character models expressing a wide range of facial expressions? Aside from the whole "I'm glad I don't have to date him" line, Tron wasn't exactly lying when she was talking about Roll. She does just sit back while you get shot at and probably is skimming money off the weapon upgrades and she sold all of Megaman's weapons and equipment from the first game without telling him or asking permission first and she seems to make either him or Data do all the cooking :P

To be fair, she made those weapons for Mega Man in the first place, takes sole care of the ship, still handles SOME cooking (if MML1 is to be believed when she mentions her apricot pie), and she’s still a useful asset during digs. Even though she’s just in the ship, she’s an extra set of eyes and ears for Mega Man. Mega Man’s talent at being a digger helps Roll achieve her dreams and tighten her skills as a mechanic, while her skills help Mega Man become an even better digger. TL;DR: literally everything Tron said was a lie.

I know this game is famous for its cliffhanger ending, but... I feel like it's sort of implied that EVENTUALLY Roll and Tron will stop arguing and come up with a way to get to Megaman. Especially given the comedic nature of the final scene, I just don't think they meant for it to be very suspenseful. He, along with Juno, Yuna, Sera, Geetz, and Gatz, are all highly advanced androids, whereas basically everyone else who isn't the Master is a Carbon, i.e. an artificial human. As for the Elders what started getting activated once the Master System went offline, I have a suspicion they're probably related to the Reploid-human hybrids from the ZX series, though we won't know for sure until Capcom gets up off its collective keister and makes Legends 3 already.

@@MisterVercetti I always figured system units were just “modified” carbons. In Mega Man’s case, though, he doesn’t look like the other system units. It’s possible he may have looked just like the other system units in the past, considering that we never see his old body. But that just lends credence to the idea that maybe when he was turned into a baby, he was put into an unmodified carbon body, which is why he doesn’t have the same skin or hair as the other system units. Even if looks don’t mean anything, we never actually see system units age. Mega Man, on the other hand does. If the system units are advanced, specialized androids (or even modified carbons), it makes sense as to why they don’t age. Since Mega Man does however, the only other option is that his mind was transferred into a carbon body after the battle where he was turned into a baby. After all, we know system units can transfer their minds into fully carbon bodies as was the case with Matilda, Yuna, and Sera.

This one as a movie.... oh my mega gods... That one was so much pain & sorrow for Volnutt. First off his master the last human in existence (well we don't know if they're still many left outside the solar system). The Carbons never knew what happened that night, carrying on with their everyday lives. Wow, the Legends has a ton of mythos, pathos, ethos & logos that are slowly coming by in the previous entries so to speak with all the tropes & more lore to come as well. The Purifier Unit, Mega Man Trigger, returned to Elysium to fulfill the Master's final wish and destroy the system. Sera and Geetz tried to take the Master's genetic code from Trigger, while Yuna and Gatz chose instead to be neutral and kept the Keys to the Mother Lode hidden from her. After a terrible battle, Yuna sealed Sera and Geetz on the place that would come to be known as Forbidden Island. while Trigger stored his memories inside a small robotic monkey named Data and had his body reset to the form of an infant while he recovered. But he'll be Volnutt for this day forward. That was a really difficult choice to make even leaders & said creators. To give back centuries of life, history and culture to those who didn't have a choice or to preserve what's new? (or to be precise, what's left of Earth's life & fertility) Every single heroes & heroines died fighting to create a better future only to get buried underwater after some terrible global war of sorts. Carbons didn't ask to be created but they have emotions just like humans too so you can't just nuke them out of pure logic. As part of epiphany the Master also came to the conclusion that the true human race wasn't worth preserving as it means wiping out Carbons (though he wished there's a way for humans to live with Carbons but he digress). He chose to let the carbons become the "successors" of humanity with the hopes that they wouldn't make the same mistakes humans did in the long distant past. If I was Volnutt, I'd destroy the program. No point in bringing back what is lost nor preserving humanity. Oh....the one thing the Master forgot to tell him sooner before going to Earth....is that the Elder System was sealed away by the Master System to keep the Reaverbots or whatever inside from coming out.... oh joy...is gonna suck for the Carbons....

In other news, just to tell you to get ready for the most risky RPG project of the history. Never been done before. Hiphopgamer has already hyped it up along with Horizon Zero Dawn 2. You won't believe it when you see it. It's a dream to your imaginations. Just recently there was a job listing from Sony Japan Studio. They are looking for a battle scripter who can create a script in a battle for a consumer game (RPG title). Super large new IP. Creative director said in the past he wants to always make something no matter genre as long it's different. He has always loved sci-fi, robots, space in his childhood. He need right people to pull off a risky space project in the RPG genre. Back in 2007 he played lot's of Capcom games like Dead Rising, Lost Planet and Monster Hunter. Through games and contacts is how you find new staff in Japan despite in different regions. We have LinkedIn nowadays. Shin Kurosawa joined Capcom and worked on first Mega Man Legends as writer and event designer. Then he was writer of Battle Network series. Wrote original story of Lost Planet Extreme Condition along with Keiji Inafune and was scenario writer. Then moved to Mega Man Starforce series as writer (that's why Lost Planet 2 was so different). Worked on game design for Ace Attorney 5 Dual Destinies. Left Capcom and joined Japan Studio's RaySpace project in early stage after approval from Sony. Teruhiro Shimokawa joined Capcom around Battle Network 6 and was scenario designer/writer of Starforce series up until 3. Left Capcom and joined Comcept, become director and writer of Soul Sacrifice in collab with Japan Studio and Marvelous. That's how Shimokawa-san learned about RaySpace project at Japan Studio and was intrigued. Was still working at Comcept up until Aug 2016 but was involved with RaySpace behind the scenes. Shinsuke Komaki goes all back to 1995 as 18 years old boy working as graphics designer on Mega Man X3. Since then he has worked on illustrations for different games at Capcom. Publicity design of RE2, character artist of RE0, character designer of RE Umbrella Chronicles and publicity design on RE Darkside Chronicles that are photorealism related projects. Cartoony illustrations involves Misadventure of Tron Bonne, Project Justice, Mega Man X6, Battle Network, Starforce series. After that he left Capcom and joined Comcept. Worked on several projects as art director including Soul Sacrifice. I will not mention the other clusterfuck projects, mismanaged by Inafune. After ReCore he joined RaySpace project at Japan Studio. Moved from Osaka to Tokyo. His dream has always been this project. He is also impressed to see younger artists at Japan Studio who recognize him for his art and works. He says on twitter they are very talented who will take materials to the highest level. Tomokazu Fukushima left Konami before Kojima Productions was formed. So right after MGS3. He has been the writer and creator of radio script system so he has written all codec scripts in MGS, MGS2 and MGS3 you have experienced + the story. He left Konami and joined Sony. He is now reportedly to be involved with RaySpace. I can only think of all free dialogue choices for the story he is going to play a major role on. Up to this point Japan has been trash on story choice in RPGs, their strength is linear stories with side quests, not story choice you see from Western developers like CDPR and old BioWare. Japan Studio has also gone through major changes. Allan Becker is no longer studio head of Japan Studio. His artsy mindset wanted JS to focus on art house games, in 2011 he didn't wanted JS to make massive blockbuster stuff. None of his approach paid off so Jim Ryan is promoted Nicolas Doucet (he is French who speaks Japanese) as new studio head of Japan Studio. The creator of Astro Bot who made a 90+ game on metacritic which this studio has not achieved since first Ape Escape. It's about balance and high quality, Jim Ryan made the right choice. He also moved Polyphony out from their car park to a bigger office for future expansion last year. Things are heating up for PS5, so be prepared. Next gen is going to be the biggest leap in gaming history. Japan Studio producer, Teruyuki Toriyama, is the one who has pushed for future AAA approach of this studio against Allan Becker's will and Sony agrees with him. Shu was so-so about the initiative, but he is neutral and follows order from Sony. He prefers to explore indies and virtual reality experiences so he was appointed as head of indies. Instead of having indies, virtual reality and 1st party under same umbrella Jim Ryan separated on WWS and indies. He is cleaning the house whether you like it or not. WWS had become stagnant thanks to Shawn Layden, Shu and Allan Becker who were caterpillars of US domination of WWS.
