I will really miss this show! It was so good and ALWAYS a pleasure to watch. I loved the Genie and all the jokes he would say over the years!

This dude is fucking amazing... Edit: the cameraman was on point too! He caught everything, zoomed in when needed, and was just all out flat amazing

Why tf do the other genies look like aliens?

The main Genie uses prosthetic material to make his face look like that of the character, it was sculpted on him before every show, a process that could take up to two hours. As for the duplicate genies, they're all using face masks that can easily be put on in seconds as the performers that are playing the duplicate genies are also playing other ensemble roles in the show. They need to be able to quickly change in and out of the costumes. As for why the costume design is the way it is, it's likely because the show was first performed back in 2003 before the advent of HD cameras and KZbin. They probably didn't anticipate cameras being able to zoom so close and in such detail. From an audience member's vantage point, the masks looked somewhat normal.

Because traditional genie characters on stage are played by black men. and if any other race plays genie, then they need to do blue face, since black face is out the question lol

@@malachithomas1 Actually there is no real race that plays the genie. It just happens that the main guy on Broadway has been black.

@@malachithomas1 And "the genie" when he had his mini-retirement party on The View stated that anyone can be the Genie. I'll take his word over others.
