Megasquirt 101 EP 3: JRP AFR Gauge Install - MX5 Vent Gauge Install

Hi Everyone,
Today I'll be installing a JRP (Just Race Parts) AFR gauge to compliment the wideband upgrade from the previous episode. I couldn't wait to see the gauge in action and actually hooked it up months ago so I'm installing a water temp gauge as well that has a similar style. It will be great for a comparison (spoiler the JRP is awesome and I will be replacing the water temp gauge with a JRP one if it ever becomes available). I'm not sponsored this is just my own opinion.
I'll be installing the gauges into the vents which is popular on MX5s and using add a fuse circuits so I don't have to cut into the existing wiring.
I will finish wiring the water temp gauge when I have a need to change my coolant which I suspect might be soon from some of the engine noises the car is making.

Can you change the start up sequence? 0:22 and 0:40 have different sequences to your AFR at the end. Or is it because each gauge from JPR has a different sequence

You can! There are 3 opening / closing sequences that you can have at any time eg. opening sequence 1 with closing sequence 3. Just saw they released the full line up of gauges yesterday! Keen to replace the water temp one I have.

Still haven’t found another brand that comes close for LCD style gauges. If you’ve got an OBD2 car their all in one unit might be a good option for you too.

@@YuyuJitekiGarage i bought the same gauge for the same controller😅 but on haltech platinum pro.. Do you know if i need to enable something from haltech to make sure it reads the sensor.. Tia

@@alitoroganan2442 should be able to be used but hard to know why it isn't reading from the Haltech. The controller essentially just gives back a 0-5v reading. As long as this goes back to the Haltech I think it should work. Not sure about software settings I've not used theirs before.
