I think your rear end has too much preload in the back end and it's unsettling the rear end rather than squatting and cushioning and softly unloading the rear as you pick the next gear? Adam LZ pretty much had the same problem in his IRS Mustang but obviously for different reasons. My understanding is if you can cause it to squat and really slow that rebound you can just start to make traction 👍 Sorry to hear about the destruction. It's disheartening bro, I fully understand how you feel right now. I know when stuff like this happens I go into over analytical mode I'll be inspecting the geometry for why it's not pealing off straight? Maybe something in the front linkage isn't square or is binding perhaps? Sometimes with a project like this if I had as many toys, I'd probably flog off the least favourite and give things another whirl with renewed enthusiasm perhaps? You aren't me though and I know it's a big thing these days to have many cars in a collection and it's something to be proud of? In that case disregard and hopefully you'll get views subs or *sponsors* (hint hint) and maybe it can happen that way 👍
@Drunk3nMas7er Жыл бұрын
It's a leaf spring, so a totally different game. Do remember the hoff was running 7's in the 2000's on leaves when barely anyone was and LZ was just fresh out of nappies...
@jameshatton4211 Жыл бұрын
@@Drunk3nMas7er a guy I know from SA used to have a 13BPT Carolla running 8s on leaf springs? It used up launch and hook dead straight too, so he didn't bother changing to 4 link rear end? Still my point here with this panel van is that he's just blown $6K worth of drive (diff, box and clutch) and you could put it all back in again brand new and still go and blow it all again next pass because the suspension rebound is high? He really needs to unload the rear end slowly after it squats otherwise drag racing is going to be expensive! I'm saying fix the cheaper thing first..... Then go about upgrades to 4 link rear or what ever AFTER that. Just changing rear shocks alone might be enough to get what he wants out of it? All I can say is loosing all that money after just getting the car complete is very disheartening. I wish Scott all the best with Panel van
@ttv8ra23 Жыл бұрын
@@jameshatton4211 his point is that the Hoff knows waaaayyyyy more about this than you. He’s been racing ridiculously high power leaf spring cars for 20 years. It’s not new to him.
@jameshatton4211 Жыл бұрын
@@ttv8ra23 I agree. Really I'm trying to get his spirits up bro. I personally really like this car and don't wanna see him put it on the back burner? And he really he doesn't want to destroy another 6K drive line? My point is that this is the discussion section/comments section, right? This IS where followers are ALLOWED to be posting possible solutions, correct? So rather than tell me I don't know what I'm talking about or the owner knows more than what I do......that's your opinion? I CAN choose to ignore your dismissal as well? There is nothing wrong with me discussing improvements or suggest changes or anything really? You too also have a choice to keep dismissing me or my suggestions as well; you're allowed to do that too! I just think that dismissals of any kind are not constructive, especially when it comes from someone who is not offering their own solutions, just saying 🙃
@ttv8ra23 Жыл бұрын
@@jameshatton4211 I tend not to offer advice on things that I know less about than the person in question. Who are you?? What experience do you have to justify you telling him what he should and shouldn’t be doing. What experience do you have racing crazy high horsepower, light weight leaf sprung cars?? Cos the Hoff has a lot of experience. I don’t think anyone wants to see him give up on it and he won’t.
