Thank you I was wondering if applying voltage to a vfd without taking the motor leads off would cause something like that. Thanks for not making me look like an ass by doing that!! Glad I checked out this vid👍🏻

Very well said - great video. I think maybe the electricians meant to disconnect the VFD T1/2/3 load cables before testing the motor (we can hope)

My finding is you almost always can megger electronic devices as long as active and main neutral are both disconnected. Only RF and surge protection devices that interfere with this and cause a fail

You mentioned a model with a hand crank. I have one in front of me right now, it also has 3 alligator clamps and a test button...... good times!

Thx you very much, specially your note regarding Meggering VFDs, I am about to approve the design from supplier to build the MCC panel with 6 VFD's, and Meggering after installation at the site, but I couldn't understand why it would damage VFD's and they are already designated to curry up to 400 Volts? can you please clarify it?

Please note 250/500/1000 volts is not HIGH VOLTAGE. High voltage is classed as anything above 1000v AC or 1500v DC. 250/500/1000 IS LOW VOLTAGE.
