To tell you the truth, I don't think it has really sunk in that he is the King. Her Late Majesty understood that the Crown always comes first, before personal tribulations, before family, before everything. That is what she dedicated her life to, representing the Crown. Unfortunately, Charles will have to learn that lesson the hard way. I think that he always relied on his mother to make it right, somehow; now, all the props are gone, the training wheels are off. Perhaps he will understand her better after the Coronation. I believe that he will have to finally make the choice once and for all-- his country, or his son. The results of that choice will define the rest of his reign.
