My Biological father died from sudden death when I was 8. They took 40% Heritance tax. And because my parents were not married only living together I only got a very small % of his private NHS pension 😭 He worked for 40 years and I received a few thousand pounds a year until my early 20’s . And it stopped. He paid in Thousands over the years to see a tiny fraction paid back. My mum not entitled widow pension because she was under 40 at the age of his death. I think if there are kids under 18 inheritance tax should be scrapped or just take no more than 10%.

He escaped, was caught, and the case went to the high court, which freed the slave immediately as slavery had been illegal in Britain since 1215. The slave built a successful business in London and became rich. Look towards Africa for the money who enslaved their own black people and sold them to white TRADERS, and not the British people. Britain and its government ended slavery at a financial cost, policing the seas against slavery and over 2,500 British sailors lost their lives enforcing it. The Empire did great things in introducing common law and invented inclusion before its time in India. The barbaric ritual of burning alive the widow of a deceased husband on his funeral pyre was made illegal with the threat of hanging for those who took part in it. Compensation paid to slave owners under the Slavery Abolition Act was more like of an economic nature because they paid to own the slaves and could not get a profit from the slaves or gain from them. It's more like the situation when the government ordered that all chickens should be killed to stop the spread of disease and pay compensation to the farmers. It's to compensate the slave owners' loss under the abolition. Slaves benefitted from the abolition of slavery. Demanding compensation from the abolition is to argue that one loses under the abolition. Certainly slaves do not argue that they would rather there be no abolition. Lammy is confusing issues. He has also confused his role whether he is representing Britain or the Caribbeans.
