Meghan Markle, Jessica Alba join Kerry Washington’s birthday spiritual gathering to set intentions

Meghan Markle has a new girl squad!
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, joined her gal pals last week to celebrate her longtime friend Kerry Washington’s birthday.
The “Scandal” actress, who turned 48 on Jan. 31, invited her close friends to an at-home celebration where they all took part in a series of spiritual activities. In a TikTok shared by Jessica Alba, who was also at the bash, Markle was seen sitting next to Washington at the dinner table as Alba carried a plate of doughnuts lit up with candles, in lieu of a birthday cake.
The “Suits” alum was also seen sitting in a meditation circle before the guests took part in some journaling, smoke and fire cleansing, crystals, and astrological readings.
The group opted for comfy outfits for the low-key celebration, as Markle appeared to wear a white long-sleeved sweater and let her brunette locks flow.
“Happy Born Day to my girl Kerry Washington 🥳🎂 There’s nothing like that fill your cup type of girls night ,” Alba, 43, wrote on Instagram. “Under the energy of the New Moon in Aquarius , we came together for a beautiful ceremony.”
Washington, for her part, took to Instagram over the weekend to share some snaps from her birthday celebrations as she asked fans to consider donating to the Altadena Teen Girls’ Fire Rescue. The evening was led by Jill Wintersteen, an author and the founder of Spirit Daughter, based in Venice Beach.
Wintersteen explained the significance of the first new moon of 2025, which she says offers “a time for fresh starts.”
“This night was just that. We connected, manifested, released what no longer serves us … Feeling extra
grateful - to more nights like these,” Alba wrote. While it’s unclear how far back Markle’s friendship with Alba goes, the former working royal has boasted a close friendship with Washington for years.
In 2021, Washington posted a throwback snap of the pair together in honor of Markle’s 40th birthday.
“Happy Birthday to this beautiful 👑, Meghan Markle,” Washington wrote on Instagram at the time. “On her 40th birthday, I will be joining The Duchess of Sussex by donating 40 minutes of service to grassroots organizers and organizations on the ground fighting for change. Fighting for our democracy. Fighting for our rights and our voices to be heard as we re-enter into the workforce and a new election season.”
