During Tuesday’s episode of The View, McCain noted that Warren had, in her initial statement about the strike, referred to Soleimani as a “murderer.” In a follow-up, the Massachusetts senator called the killing of Soleimani an “assassination.” The conservative commentator wanted to know why Warren couldn’t bring herself to use the word “terrorist” to describe Soleimani."

Soleimani is the enemy, but that neither makes him a bad guy or a terrorist. The American government and many nations governments around the world have been enemies of the Iranian government since some time in 1979. Soleimani was most obviously a valid and considerable adversary , proven by all the rhetoric coming out of the Trump Administration. If the foreign affairs experts truly believe killing him is somehow making life better for Americans and their allies, then I have to accept that, but even enemies deserve respect. The man is dead and the poor treatment of many people in the Middle East from the Western world continues. Inflammatory statements about a martyr are likely considered worse than inflammatory statements about Soleimani when he was alive..... I'll do one here., properly,...using John McCain and his daughter. John McCain, a naval officer served his country well. He later served, as a Senator, his constituents well, but I disagreed with his policies on almost everything. Meghan McCain is alive and well and in my opinion, has no right to be on the air, spouting nonsense. She comes across as being an idiot. You can see this over and over again where it interferes with other countries. The US has repeatedly installed or supported right wing authoritarians. It not a coincidence. It's a feature not a bug. US foreign policy goals are 1. Secure access to cheap oil for US oil majors to extract 2. Ensure that US multinational corporations have privileged access to markets 3. Ensure that any form of socialism that pushes back against capitalist elites is strangled at birth 4. Get other countries to sell their public infrastructure to US corporations so it can be exploited and rent generated With very few exceptions, if you look back in US history since WW2, these are the common threads behind where the US has intervened (and on which side), vs where it ignored all the ideals it pretends to care about.
