It's not failure as in "they started a business or career and it failed", but as in "they put themselves on display showing themselves for exactly what they are and most people don't like them." All of us have flaws, faults and good in us and born with our characters etc that we can't change, It's just a case of working on what is good in you and controlling the negative aspects of our natures. Some people can bring out the best in a person whilst another can bring out the worse. The once fun loving young kind popular Prince H was years ago was still showing his real self, just the better side of his nature. H needs to work on things that bring out his better nature and learn not to be easily influenced to act in ways that can be very detrimental to others and himself. Meghan is the mastermind of many projects, such a control freak that there is no way she was not involved and had a heavy hand in inclusion of the damaging stories. The lip gloss incident is not something that a man cares to note in a book. But it was significant for Meghan to paint the picture of Duchess Katherine as being stand offish and cold. Yes. If I had to pinpoint the one thing (among so many) that has really created their downfall, it would be the mocking curtsey scene in their f*uckUmentary. It is the thing which is commented on more than anything else in all the YT channels, and seems to have united people all over the world in outrage, even non-royalists, because of its sheer spiteful, vindictive rudeness, which was fully intended to be seen by a bereaved and dying old lady (who thankfully was spared from it by her death). They threw too much stuff out at once trying to claw their way back. They should have laid low for a year or two and do some research and planning. I don't feel there's a way back for them now after all that they have done. The RF may forgive but the public will never forget.

It probably is too late now. But I do remember thinking that after the Oprah interview that if they would have given a public apology for all the lies they told, while also scrapping the book before it went into publication, returning all the money would have been a good start

They both are seen as liars, traitors and narcissists. The fact they have taken down both of their families in this process is what have turned people against them most of all. You cannot claim to be a humanitarian and do the most damage to those closest to you. They have definitely burned their bridges.

Based on the article, she (through a "spokesperson") seems to think everything before the book wasn't an issue. The Oprah interview, their returns to the UK for the jubilee & funerals, her podcast, the Netflix "mock"umentary, all had negative impacts- in which she was completely involved. No, they can't. No one can make that curtsy reenactment disappear. It will haunt her for a lifetime. QEII was so highly respected. She was the worlds Queen. Look at the way she openly treats her Father. She comes across as cold & uncaring. I just don't see a path forward for her.

What can be done to "reclaim" popularity? Before looking at that they need to look at the current situation and take an accurate view, which seems unlikely because both are, to a greater or lesser extent, delusional. They both have an entirely unrealistic idea of what talents, or lack of talent, they have to exploit or bring to bear in their cause. The second issue is that they both seem addicted to drama, hence the charade in New York. And both, or at least Meghan, are obsessed with getting publicity at any price, hence the staged "pap" shots, which fool nobody. A separate issue is the contempt in which they hold anyone who doesn't swallow hook, line and sinker "their truth" and the (frankly) stupidity displayed in thinking that no one will check their statements for untruths or for evidence of claimed actions. A classic example is Meghan claiming to be a great humanitarian, when the evidence is almost entirely lacking. The Canadian charity that flew her to Rwanda is an obvious starting point: there is zero evidence that she has ever shown the remotest interest in following up on that particular project, or on any of that charity's other work. Then Harry has always claimed to be interested in the welfare of wounded UK veterans, in fact he's on record (watch the video) as saying he would "dedicate the rest of my life to you guys" when he did part of an Arctic walk with them in 2015. However, there is no evidence of any follow-up, not before Meghan came into his life and certainly not after. Granted he's now based in the USA but what about emails, a shout-out on his podcasts, ANYTHING? Again, nothing. In summary, there is very little genuine popularity to be regained, while they have now spent three-and-a-half years showing the world an unfocused, vapid lifestyle, supposedly dedicated to their children, and her obsession with expensive clothing, unable to grasp how inappropriate it is to attend each and every event wearing more jewellerd decoration than a Christmas tree, and pushing her own book at obviously bored children. The self-absorption is frightening and, untimately, repellent.

@@taras6806 I’m very touched by your kind words. The loss is like losing a limb - you have to learn a new way of living. I’m elderly so know that it won’t be too long before we are together again! As part of the veterans’ community - my late husband was in the British army - I keep myself busy and in touch with old friends and looking after my elderly rescue cat who is a very loving companion. Our cats and dogs were the children we never had. I’m grateful for social media and KZbin which are a way of keeping in touch with people far away. 😃

She isn’t capable of regrets imho. She is distancing herself from the FACT that she WAS COMPLETELY hands on with this book. She believes we will believe more of her lies. Someone from Canada who understands the differences between how Americans speak versus how a British person speaks says she saw too many American wordings in the book. To me this is proof she helped if not completely wrote that book and he, being completely brainwashed and manipulated by her followed along like a puppy trying to please. It’s beyond too late , they are over, in more ways than one.
