Enjoy your airstream but as the owner of a 1972 Airstream Argosy I hope you do some travel videos with it at some point. There’s a lot of airstream restoration content on KZbin, but not much for travel of older Airstreams. I tow mine with a 1998 Dodge Culmins 2wd with manual trans and get 15-16 mpg at 65mph.

@ Sweet! Happy travels. And great job on the reno! One of these days I need to tackle my Argosy. I’ve had it 7 years & used it a bunch and it’s in pretty good shape overall, but it’s original & could definitely use a makeover.

Arizona and New Mexico are cold in the winter due to the elevation. Cast iron range top with two burners, Summit CSD2B230 11 1/4"W Electric Radiant Stove w/ (2) Burners - Stainless Steel, 230v/1ph and more on the market.

Just a Thought, the wood stove looks great and seems to be fitting all of your needs, however that chimney worries me?!? How tall is it from the ground to the cap of the chimney and what is the distance from the roof to the cap? It looks rather high and may get clipped by a low overhang or let's say a gas station awning?!? Also, I'm not seeing any diagonal support cable/stainless wire to reenforce the chimney from wind at freeway speeds or wind gusts at, let's say a camp site?!? Just a thought. All in all, I'd say that the both of you did a heck of a job and deserve a pat on the back!!!!!! An aside, that tow vehicle seems undersized for the trailer, just a 66-year old's opinion, so take it for what it's worth. Be safe in your Travels!!! And oh yah, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
@Meghanandmatt
@Meghanandmatt 17 күн бұрын
The top 20” inches of chimney plus the cap are removable when we drive and the leftover stack is just slightly taller than the AC. The wood stove company said we shouldn’t need any supports for the extra height when we’re parked up too. But thank you! We’re very glad to be done and excited for what’s next. Happy new year!

Congrats you two! I've been following along as I do a much smaller renovation on my 71 Safari here in Boston. I am set on a composting toilet (already ditched the black tank and plumbed in a huge gray tank!). I know you don't want to talk about it, but is it just the brand you bought, or are you sour on all composting toilets in general? It's not too late for me to shell out a little more on one of those dryflush bag toilets.
@Meghanandmatt
@Meghanandmatt 16 күн бұрын
We’ve used other composting toilets that work fine, ours is just awful. Whatever you choose make sure it is externally vented. We are going to save up for a replacement composting toilet in the future. Good luck on your build!
