Shaak Ti was making the point that Bric’s tampering was what actually ended up pushing the Clones to perform their unorthodox victory. It was intended as a bit of a dig at him considering he was so set on seeing them fail.
@xaviermontoya31056 ай бұрын
This was the strongest point about the show, before this the clones and order 66 as seen in Revenge of the Sith was a shock/twist. Now with the added character development and humanization of the clones and seeing how they were really just like everbody else adds a more tragic and sad tone to the events of the prequels.
@HotMadness276 ай бұрын
The Jedi had no choice but to use the Clone Army to fight the Separatists. There’s no other army available to fight a military on the scale of the Separatist’s droid armies. So it was either accept the use of the Clones, or be overwhelmed. The show will get into how uncomfortable some Jedi are at being military commanders over Clones instead of peacekeepers/mediators.
@GottunddieWelten6 ай бұрын
I think cloning isn't unethical per se. But the clones are more or less a slave army, so that's unethical, of course. Slavery is forbidden in the republic, but as Dexter Jettser said in Episode II, Kamino isn't part of the republic. So that's the loophole.
@TBoring5 ай бұрын
That’s not strictly speaking true. Several Republic Planets have standing armies such as the Gungans and the Mon Calamari, which is where we get our experienced commanders outside of the Jedi. It also stands to reason even Republic planets without assembled armies could make them if called upon to do so (such as the Twi’lek rebels). The problem was that the time it would take to mobilize those separate armies into one Grand Army of the Republic would take far too long to deal with the massive droid army the separatists had built in secret. So using the already assembled and trained Clone Army was the quickest and most effective response to the separatists. That said it was a tactical blunder not trying to add to the Republic’s forces with the military support from member planets, but then I imagine Palpatine didn’t want the diversified military.

A thing to note in this is that their individuality is what caused their problems in the first place their personalities were grating against each other and its only when they become a team does their individuality become a source of their strength. If they could not work together fighting in a war would just be a liability and get good people killed.

Really enjoying the in depth discussions 👌😁 For me, the clones themselves individually and the morals, ethics and politics of their creation and use was always one of my favourite and the most interesting parts of clone wars. Shak Ti, the Jedi general is the same species as Ahsoka, Togruta, pretty sure they're not related, that we know of. The comment she made to Brick, about his actions bringing out the best in the squad ; I think she meant it in a smart kind of sarcastic way, that despite the fact he tried to sabotage them, they still performed so well that she refers to them as maybe the finest squad of soldiers she's ever seen. Also have to agree with Meg, Brick is an asshole 😂 99 is the most precious clone 🥺

The reason why they cant see through palpatines disquise is that he is a sith lord and the sith lords of the last few thousand years have mastered becoming ghosts and shadows unnoticed in the force and while the jedi might not fully trust him all his actions are consistent with his perceived goal of protecting the republic.

I think that Shaak Ti was congratulating Brick in a sarcastic/ironic undertone. She knows how much he hates clones, particularly the Domino Squad, so them succeeding hurt his ego, she said it to aoply salt to the injury ;) (aka just day to day jedi sassyness) As for the test "not being fair" well, she also made a point in "too bad, war isnt fair", and she was right, adversity makes for a better simulaation, and it also brought the best of the squad's talents, and besides, they already had multiple chances under the "fair circumstances" and they failed horribly, not because fairness was a factor, but because "Brothers in arms are brothers in life" and learninf that was all they needed to not just pass the test, but also overcome a more challenging version of it breaking records and showing they were actually some of the most talented cadets 🎉🎉 Also as for the videogame Caleb described, the 3 closest games that would fit the description would be (all of them are legends): Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Classic): story mode follows the story of clones in the 501st according to Legends. Star Wars Republic Commando: You're the leader of a special squad of clone commandos, it is a shooter in which you can give orders to your squad in combat and although it "isn't canon", members of the squad have some cameos in these animated shows so keep an eye for them 👀 (although their "character" isn't as important to the story) Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (it is Age of Enpires with Star Wars skin and the expansion pack is set during The Clone Wars)

I would say Obi-Wan is the moral middle ground actually. He’s suspicious of the clone army, but treats them like people and respects them. But he also knows that they were created to serve a purpose and he’s not reeling at the idea of them dying in battle (Though one can argue that that’s because of his Jedi training) Which also begs the question: Since clones are CREATED and not BORN, are they people that should live lives or are they products simply created for a purpose. And Brick is a terrible person. However, his training methods do work,as unethical as they are. And the removal of the rope, is a gross lesson. Whether it was in ingenuity like Caleb was saying, orrrrrr the idea of being prepared. A more experienced clone would check their bags before leaving for the mission

"Master Chief" is an enlisted military rank in the real world, and carries over to military sci-fi (and semi-sci-fi) franchises like Halo, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Wars, etc. Halo's "Master Chief" is simply being called by his rank, without his name.

For Kaminoans the ethical questions of cloning are.....not exactly something they bother with.....this alien species practiced eugenics and they are SELLING clones as products! They supposedly also sold clones for labor force (possibly the mining in Subterrel and other places in the outer rim) and in the Attack of the Clones we learn that this clone army they considered 'the finest we've created' so they did make clone soldiers long before. Kaminoans are interesting species, :).
