I got to know that your heart beats fast and
I got to know I'm the only one for you
What have I become?
I'm a fucking monster
When all I wanted was something beautiful
My love too much
Your love not enough
My love too much
Your love...
Oh, what it takes out of me to lay by your side
Oh, how it aches and it aches You make me wanna die
I gotta kill you, my love I gotta kill you, my love
Oh, what it takes out of me to lay by your side
You said forever Now you look right through me
You said forever Did your words fall short like you
What have I done?
I'm a fucking monster
When all I wanted was something beautiful
My love too much
Your love not enough
My love too much
Your love...
Oh, what it takes out of me to lay by your side
Oh, how it aches and it aches You make me wanna die
I gotta kill you, my love I gotta kill you, my love
Oh, what it takes out of me to lay by your side
My love too much
Your love not enough
My love too much
Your love...

It can also speak right to the soul-gutting pain of your twin flame deciding to devote himself entirely to the aspiring career he never had following a deep confrontation with his own mortality. That whole ‘you said forever’ line cuts me to the friggin’ quick. And while I can’t blame him, here I am ‘a fucking monster’. All I wanted was something beautiful. Meg’s my alt-dimensional younger self. NO artist can speak to my soul (or speak my soul) like she does. And I’m 40! Truth.

It's so true. I left Salt Lake and fled to Nevada because of the pandemic and for two years I planned how I would go back buy a ring and ask her to marry me. Just a few months ago she got married. I feel like an idiot. I hurt. I just try to accept but I see her face everywhere. Now I'm a fucking monster.

@@brianmott8572 You're not a monster, my friend. In my experience people move on, but feelings often get left behind. I hope one day we can both find peace and accept that they are gone. Since writing my comment, I've gotten the chance to move on into a far more positive and healthy relationship than the girl I wrote about could've given me. I hope you too can one day find someone to share your heart with, a relationship better than the past.

Absolutely. But unfortunately (for her and society) there are many other forces at work behind the scenes of Fame/Popularity and she didn't have appropriate representation or individuals in her Orbit who helped her blow up as she should've. Success in any creative industry is oftentimes a lottery at best regardless of how genuinely talented a soul is. But it seems she REALLY REALLY got screwed over by various players in the Agency/Public Relations/Promotions arena and the tides of taste/trends also drastically shifted at the wrong time for her. Add that to some personal issues (that I will not go into out of respect) and you have the perfect recipe for disaster.

everyone says they think the lyrics are about her killing her bf, but I think it’s about her killing her love for an abuser, she says “my love, too much” and “your love, not enough” and then she says “I gotta kill you my love”, I think when she says “my love” she means literally, not referring to a person, she wants to kill her love for this person who does love her “enough” like they claim to

"You said forever / Now you look right through me / You said forever / Did your words fall short like you", "My love too much / Your love not enough"... To me this sounds more like a song of a failing relationship which the POV person realizes can no longer be made to function.

Her label is missing the boat marketing her. I should be hearing her everywhere. They have bottled perfection and don't know how to sell it. She has a beautiful voice, great presence, and looks like a goddess but they choose to back the other garbage. I hate it when artists get pushed to the side. Loved Patti Rothberg back in the 90's and she didn't get label support and disappeared. Come on guys you are killing talent.

I heard a ton of music in the 90's, but I have never heard of Patty Rothberg. She must not have been very good or she would've gotten a lot more recognition and attention like so many others did then and in the 80's. You have to stand out or you won't get anywhere in the music business. She's not have done enough to get her new out there to the masses.

It’s because she’s in the rock genre! A lot of kids these days listen to more pop and rap. I don’t think they even know what rock music is anymore. Rock isn’t like it was back then. If she had come out in the early 2000s she would be a super star!!!! She is extremely talented but she prefers rock and the label and those she’s worked with respect her input and the way she wants her music to sound. But she’s in a dead genre. I love rock still it’s one of my favorites. I love Meg so much cause she is true talent. But she should go more pop or whatever is popular these days. Whatever the Gen Zs like. Meg is a millennial she needs to try marketing herself to Gen Z. She needs more support. She needs to be on TikTok she needs to collab with rap Artist. Believe me she can become huge but she has to broaden her horizons. She shouldn’t limit herself to just rock music. People don’t get that type of music anymore. It’s for us millennials and older generation. She has to reach her music To Gen Z
