I grew up in the 90s, the first time I saw MEGO figures was in the Toy Fare magazine's Twisted MEGO Theater comic section. They always have these Marvel MEGO figures as the characters.

Glad this video is UP again, Mr. Tony! Some Marvel superheroes Mego should have crafted figures for addition as Avengers were Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD and Ms. (Captain) Marvel. A planned supervillain that was cancelled was Dr. Doom , who was meant to face, of course, the Fantastic Four. Nice touch having the villains abduct Evel Knievel. 👍

Lol now i have to go dig out Evel Kneivel, thanks Tony. I had mostly DC Mego in the mid 70's but also has Spiderman and 12 inch HULK. IRONMAN is ultra expensive to complete on Ebay as well as THOR. I purchased Diamond Select Retro Cloth THOR and CAP instead for around $45 US! TOYBIZ Marvel Famous Covers released all the original Avengers too not exactly MEGO but a nice alternative!

I had the twelve inch Hulk when I was a kid for this very reason - because he was so much larger than my other Megos - looked more like how imagined he would in comparison.

Ahh, watching This video and seeing Thor and the hulk reminded me of Twisted Toyfare theater magazine. Some friends sent me a double issue while I was deployed to Iraq in 04’ and I reread that thing about once a week. Hilarious, Thor was a buffoon and the hulk was an idiot, tony stark an alcoholic, spidey a smart ass and on and on. There was a story where they had 3 and 3/4 inch joes too, and maybe some MOTU with negó super hero’s as well. Like robot chicken in comic book form. The half smile on Meho hill’s face brought it all flooding back. Thanks!

Great video. As a south american kid it was really hard to find mego toys in my country. Later as a teen I didn't appreciate this figures but as an adult I recognize how great they are

Always wanted to get all the Avengers. I was scuppered by the poor distribution though. No Iron Man no Thor or Falcon. Got Hulk late and on holiday in Wales. I always did wonder why he was so Small!? Thought it was a different manufacturer for ages because of that. I had the 12" Hulk and never thoight of using him with the rest of my collection. It is a wonder that little me didn't think of that as I used the Action Man Intruder as a bad guy for Hulk and Thing to fight! Commander Koenig became another Superhero as I could never get anymore of that line. Starsky and Hutch were both stripped down and Starsky became Namor and Hutch became Toro. Imagination of mine went wild with these figures. Loved them.

Great video. I had the Falcon as a kid. He was one of the best action figures I ever had. Great detailing, very sturdy accessories especially compared to the other WGSH crew. My brother had the Hulk, who was fantastic fun but his legs popped apart very easily.

I love this video!! A couple of months ago, I finally completed my Marvel Mego Avengers. And soon, I'll complete the Fantastic Four, and the only Marvel Mego left for me to find and collect will be the Green Goblin. I have photographed my Mego Avengers together with the 8 inch Hulk and with the 12 inch Hulk, which like you said, is more series accurate. I loved the trailer to the homemade Mego Avengers. :)

Thats awesome that u put this out, i just started my mego wgsh collection recently. Conan was my favorite so i grabbed him 1st but i have my sights set on a complete thor next. I was wondering , do u collect any vintage monsters from mego, ahi, or remco. Thats something else im starting to get into

Fyi..Toybiz initial 8 inch famous cover line is as nostalgic as the Mego line with improved looks and feel..plus cool vintage style collector friendly box art. I am only missing the Iron Man but do have Cap..Hulk..Thor & Hawkeye though i do hv the Mego Hulk and recalled it being a favorite of mine growing up🤗

Some of the Famous Covers don't last. I have a Falcon and Scarlet Witch and the simulated vinyl parts of their costume have cracked and flaked off over time.

@@Gojitron1 yes i am aware of that..mine too hv some defects over time like colors on certain parts flaking and vinyl parts cracking..guess it was sold cheap back then not much focus on it being high end collectibles. Also that adds to a certain charm of vintage.🤗

I had Hulk, Cap, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Lizard in my Marvel collection. I also had many DC heroes and Mego Spock. So whenever I wanted to have Sub-Mariner in my play, I would remove Spock's uniform and put Robin's green shorts on him.

If you want a few extra members the fantastic four were all avengers at one point! My first issue of west coast avengers had the thing as a member in it when i was younger! Shame they never did wasp and giant man/ ant man. Note that conan has joined the avengers in the newer comics if you want to add him to your team!

(1) Namor is "similar" to Aquaman only to people who know absolutely nothing about the characters except that they are leaders that can breathe underwater, so Mego. (2) Being that you don't consider Hawkeye or Black Widow to be "superheroes", do you consider Batman to be a superhero? Green Lantern? Is it that they have to have superpowers, because Falcon and Iron Man doesn't have any superpowers. Just wonderin.

As a life long Hulk fan, I’m very disappointed with the Marvel universe movies since they completely ruined the Hulk! I have never seen such a bad representation of the Hulk, he’s incredibly weak, he’s missing most of his powers and he’s a coward! I hate what they did to him in the movies, it’s an insult to such a great character imo

I go back and forth on MEGO Captain America. I wish he looked more comic accurate but on the other hand, he does have a certain charm to him too. Same goes for MEGO Shazam.
