Mego Star Trek Spock Gift Set at B&M

Picked this set up myself last week. Didn’t really want to open it, but seeing Spock in the uniform from “The Cage” has changed my mind!! Great videos mate.

Hi, this is actually a “Where no man has gone before” shirt for Spock. Spock wore a blue shirt in the “Cage”.

Yeah you are right, I do correct myself at the end of the video. I just call it a "Cage" uniform as that's where this style first appeared (with minor differences) and that's what I associate it with. I suppose the real question is why have Mego not done a Kirk/Spock Where no man Twin pack given that no new tooling would be needed? (Unless they wanted to throw in a nice chess set?)

They put the price down, damn it! And I threw the receipt away. Never mind. It looks cool high up on top of my cabinet. Was Kinda 50/50 on opening it like the commenter below. I did however get a second mirror universe set to use the figures for modding as £10 a figure ain't bad value. One point... Looking at the slightly lesser quality of the 2 Mirror Universe figures I do wonder if they came from a different factory to other new Megos I've purchased.

Thanks, I've noticed great variation in body quality especially the arm plastic and method of head production which is weird unless several factories produce the parts. The Wrath of Khan figures are really high quality plastic so I tend to use them for spares.

@@imarmodels That's true. Managed to track down the Picard figure. Haven't opened it. It's not all that great. Toy lines seem to struggle with Stewart's likeness. I did nab two actually, it should be easy to find a handsome bearded faced head to swap out for a custom Riker

stupid question, a friend just got this set for her bday and cannot figure out how to swap the heads. is it that the front half of torso comes off, rather than head?

The front half is just used as padding for the shirt while in the box. The heads pop off quite well but if tight just pop the head in hot water to soften it :)

Sadly B&M are a UK only firm but I understand these were distributed to Target stores in the states.

I think Mego's quality control on the paint jobs isn't as good as it can be. I've seen Kirk with hair from almost black to bright orange lol
