I mainly make these to build up my worldedit library. After all the basics, I hope to do more advanced stuff later. (Well, any advanced things I know.)

I want to build a giant Christ the Redeemer statue on my server, but the builds that I've found to use as a schematic are not hollow, so this was super helpful to get a better idea of how many blocks I need to build it. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I needed to know how to use the hollow command as I'm creating a build with vanilla fill commands, but to build it in survival would require huge amounts of material - and Litematica isn't very forgiving when you enable autoplace. anyway fantastic tutorial!

wasn't what I was searching for, but stayed because of your nice explanation and voice, thanks haha. What I'm looking at is some way to gather coordinates from an area and replace this area with a block, I saw people doing this with debug stick, they simply go to a block, get it's coordination and go to other side, get coordination, then switch all blocks between point A(x,y,z) and B(x,y,z)
@MegRae
@MegRae 3 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about making a selection and setting the blocks? I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for but maybe check my worldedit playlist if there’s something there that’s what you need.

@@J4ap0on3es A bit old, but you could do it with vanilla minecraft, with the "/fill" command, as opposed to this "//fill" command in world edit that only fills holes under you. You probably got lured here for that reason. You can't gather the coordinates with a tool in vanilla though, you have to type them in yourself (as far as I know, but might be wrong).

@MegRae

No, there is nothing that will do the exact opposite. You have to use fill or a sloppier way by using a sphere brush with a //mask air.

Because I didnt know, for new vrsions like 1.18 the block ID is just minecraft: cobblestone for example, not a number, but the name of the block you want to use for filling
@MegRae
@MegRae 2 жыл бұрын
You can only do number IDs for blocks 1.12 and below. Anything added after that only have name IDs.

@MegRae
@MegRae 3 ай бұрын
It should work in any version just like I show it here. Make sure you have the worldedit mod and that you don't have any masks enabled that are preventing you from filling an area.

this is a tutorial for the worldedit mod. I have a whole playlist of other tutorials where I talk about masks and other features. But if you are looking to fill something in vanilla minecraft you will need to look elsewhere. There may be a vanilla command to do it, I just don't know it off the top of my head.

So, let me get this straight. First, I just need to know how the command works. Then I need to memorize every single block ID. Then using those unnecessarily complicated steps, I can do something that can be done in vanilla Minecraft 10x easier. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this useless? Why memorize every block ID for nothing? even if vanilla Minecraft can't do this with commands, you could always just do it by hand.
@MegRae
@MegRae Жыл бұрын
You don’t need to memorize the IDs. this was made in version 1.12 before autocomplete was a thing for them. And back then all IDs were numbers so you couldn’t really know what was what without memorizing.
