I used this restoration kit, but, mixed it with a 3M brand. I did sanded all the damaged clear coat with a 500 grit sandpaper, then 800 this two dry, a 2000 grit wet and finished with 3000 also wet. These came with the 3M kit. Used melguiars headlight polish which i bought some time, then used the clear coat spray. They came out great! Like almost perfect! No residue at all. But i only sprayed one time. A second or too much spraying don’t get same results.

Thank you for the advice on product. I used it on my 13 year old car. It worked amazing.
@shaazy Жыл бұрын
I did this on an '05. The yellowing went away but it's still not as clear as I'd like. After the clear coat, it looks a bit hazy instead of crystal clear. This was my second attempt on the same headlight, I cleaned if 3 times for the most consistent haze with the cleaning solution. Then did 2 passes of clearcoat.

Hello I've tried the severe headlight restoration kit the headlights after 2 years are still remaining clear they are good kits I recommend them to every doy before pulling the trigger on new headlight assembly oh ya and you want to wait a day or two so the clear coat can fully dry and bond before washing the car or else it will smear and you will have to do it all over again hope this helps happy detailing

Cool video! Do you recommend coating a brand new car headlight? if so, should the brand new cars light be polished first?
@KINGDOMKONCEPT2 жыл бұрын
From what I hear the Meguiars clear coat lasts a year so if you spray it on every year it will keep your headlights clear.

Thanks Jeff .. 👍🏼... I have used couple different headlight cleaners on 2 different vehicles ... after scrubbing “faithful” following instructions ... they looked clean .. I was excited ... then as it dried and short hour passed .. they were hazy 🌫 again (both times) .. soo 🤔 .. Yours looked cleaner .. 🤷🏼♀️ .. possibly I’ll consider 😊

Yes this product works really well but if you use 500 grit sand paper then 800 grit then 3000 it will make a real big difference.dry only with the 500&800 then wet with 3000 you will love it.Your clear coat will adhear better.

The best thing to do is sand them down to get the old clear off. Thats what you see when you turned the lights on. Some need to be stripped and not just cleaned before the spray.

i used WD40 to clear up all foggy first, then i do step 1 like you did, then spray at the end... if u dont use wd40 first to clear it, it wont be super CLEAR ..if u do my method, it will be super shinny like new ..the reason u want to use wd40 first bc it takes off fogggy very fast then u apply 1st step then spray for 2nd step then WOHHHH LAAAA

What's up Jeff thanks will pick me some up. Also Jeff to make your videos better take down the Bills helmet in the back ground and put a New York Giants helmet up in the back going go Big Blue. Buffalo is good for wings only.

you didn’t remove the haze completely you need to sand it a bit more, you scrubbed it only in one direction, you are supposed to at least do both horizontal and vertical

Considering the headlight was in pretty good shape to start with not impressed, The application of clear coat spray(No mention of UV protection?) Your method looked haphazard with stop - start action? Spraying from a can should be done in one continues application from top to bottom and overlapping by 30%!!
