Thank you for this video! I was astounded today by how much dust came off using m105. I kept cleaning the pad, literally after every single pass, to stop it dusting. Dusting is disgusting, lol. Thanks again!

Good Stuff Mike, thanks! That's a great price for M100. Believe or not Ultimate Compound is pretty handy too. It's somewhere between 105 and 205 if you don't need something as aggressive. And the wipe off is WAY better than 105.

UC is very good! Just south of M105 for cut.
@Klarkash-Ton2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with this video. M100 is better than 105 in every way. It cuts better, you can work it longer, it makes less dust, and it finishes better. I only keep my leftover 105 around in case I run out of 100.
@markjching6 жыл бұрын
nice. I use 100, 105 and 205. I find myself using 100 most frequently. I used to use menzerna, but that stuff leaves too much dust behind.

@MikeEM16 жыл бұрын
Don't need a pad larger than 5. I don't work on trucks or suv's and most modern cars have so much curves, especially sporty cars. 5" makes most sense for me.
@vincealince_SRT6 жыл бұрын
Hey bud great video, I got a couple questions how would you attack those curves on top of front fenders? Smaller pad? And also is it a MUST, to tape off plastics and headlights while compounding? I just started this detail venture any info is greatly appreciated, I’m gonna have to check this product out.
@MikeEM16 жыл бұрын
vincealinceable yes I would used a 3" pad. I'd prefer to tape off but I don't always do. It's smart to tape off plastics because polish or wax can be a pain to remove from plastics.
@danlc956 жыл бұрын
Compounds contain a lot of solids in the form of abrasives. Because of this, they tend to dust. I'm ok with this because otherwise they would clog up the pads with gummy residue.

Hey MikeEM1, are you using a polish compound after using M100? It definitely doesn't dust as bad as M105, I used baby oil to help with the dusting it works decently.
@MikeEM16 жыл бұрын
Sonax Perfect Finish is my go to for a second step most of time. I would use distilled water as baby oil seems like it would make it too slick and effect the cutting. But hey, use whatever works for you is what I say.

M100 cuts more, TLC finishes better(M100 finishes pretty well though). Both are really good products. Depends what your goal is for finish and how much time you're looking to spend paint correcting. If paint is really bad, I'll go to M100 on a Meguiar's MF pad.

Take it easy pushing the M100. It IS really great stuff but it isn’t a miracle compound. It’s more abrasive than the 105 and M100 is really more designed for harder paint. Also, comes down to cutting pads vs foam pad consistency and pressure vs heat.
@MikeEM16 жыл бұрын
When was I not taking it easy? Also this Mercedes didn't have soft* paint. Also never said it was a miracle compound, just a great bang for buck. Results shown what it did.

MikeEM1 I wasn’t accusing you of anything. Beginners sometimes misunderstand the reference of product that is available to them and it is easily misconstrued on a short video highlighting a (once again) very good tool/product. My position was simply adding some information which wasn’t mentioned. ALL information is good information. I don’t normally watch KZbin videos about this stuff from people detailing their cars but the title interested me to the point of watching. My intention was not to offend you but, to continue to inform others by way of using your video as a vehicle. You must not be a professional because your jerky response to an actual professional’s input is not helpful. NOW you can be offended. Viewership and followers don’t appreciate negative responses and it eventually cost you. Be better at responding politely to people especially when they didn’t appose you. Keep up the good detail work and get better at your people skills. Just say “thank you for watching”!
@MikeEM16 жыл бұрын
Didn't have a jerky response at all. Was trying to clarify your comment. You could have said, note to beginners, take it easy with M100 and such. I am not a professional. Just a guy on youtube who likes to keep cars clean, paint correct, test products and go tracking with my car. This isn't a business and nothing is going to eventually cost me. I can reply how I want to because this is my channel. People have the freedom to stay or go. I'm sure we both could have worded our comments differently, but my people skills are fine. Have plenty of people who have met me without issues. You're just being sensitive.
