As per Meguiar's, the ULTIMATE is PH balanced and will not hurt painted brake parts (zinc coated rotors, painted brake calipers, and etc). As for the other cleaner, it suggested that you remove the wheel/tire. There is your $5 difference.

Hot rims is a iron remover (acid based as it dissolves iron ) the purple colour changing is a gimmick in ultimate Phenanthroline is the ingredient to change colour but that’s all it does not dissolve iron

i actually use both, idk i just always have. I start witht the black bottle and spray it on the wheels and tire when dry then scrub with a brush then pressure wash them, after that I follow up with the washing of the car and spray the wheels with the foam canon and after i rinse i spray the purple bottle and scrub one last time then rinsing, drying and tire shine.

The price difference where I live is 7 dollars. I went with the purple one because like you said it works just as well and more cost efficient.

ya still have meguiar's cleaner on the rim... you have to make sure to completely remove the wheel cleaner solution off the rim when you wash it off....

The Hot rims wheel and tyre cleaner contains acid and you should avoid getting it on the paint the ultimate doesn't contain acid

@@KingRockets it is stronger but that's meaning messes up your paint but if you spray off with pressure washer reap good after you will be fine

Be sure your using the right bottle! Use the right detailer! :( I was cleaning the Rims and Cleaning the interior. and I used the Wheel Cleaner by Mistake ! OOPS! My door panel now smells like it just had a Hair coloring done now my interior smells like Ammonia Now :( Pay Attention Boys and Girls

Nice vid. The iron inhibitor u talk about is not actually that.. it works by breaking down the rust on the iron particles-- which helps to release embedded particle from the paint work. Fun fact

That's not how you use the wheel cleaner..... You spray it all over on dry wheels until it turns purple (taking the dirt/rust off) and then you wash it off with a hose... And dry the wheels with a microfiber cloth to get rid of the rest of the dirt.
