Piranesi feels like walking through a museum like 20 minutes after it opens and it's just you and an elderly couple that don't speak english, and I really think it can depend on your headspace when you read it if that works for you or not 😂😂

I has such a hard time getting into this book, but around page 90 i was hooked, and I only gave it 4 stars because it took so long to get into the book. The ending is freaking amazing.

Maybe there could be a video where you read a couple of the "almost" recommendations that you've gotten throughout these videos (the second choices basically). Then you could compare whether your first or second choices were more successful or something. Love the video!

Know My Name means so much to me. I do social work with SA survivors and was feeling really burnt out when I read that book, and her discussion of her advocates and nurses really reinvigorated me that kindness still matters.

I’ve read both the seven year slip and the final empire and I’m not 100% sure if you would have enjoyed them more or less. The seven year slip also has split timelines but it has some really interesting topics and a very sweet romance so maybe it would’ve balanced it out. I really liked the final empire but I don’t know if it does that many interesting things. It’s well crafted and I think the characters are very good but it’s a bit long and there are some parts I’d consider slow. I think it really depends on the mood you’re in LOL

It's so funny how I can tell that you're gonna give the books a bad/good rating or that you are scared to tell your opinion, Meg😂. I just see your face the first two seconds of the take and I just know what you're gonna say. I think this is a huge part of why I love your content: you know how to strike interest in the viewers and I am always itchy to see what your opinion is, even if the book doesn't necessarily interest me
@aprilsecondchapter5 ай бұрын
Maybe it would be helpful if people gave reasons behind their recommendations. Things that you particularly like in books. I just got done reading Piranesi and I surprisingly enjoyed it and gave it 4⭐️ but I am a character driven/atmospheric reader. That being said I agreed with you on the there was no and...it just happened. Which is why it couldn't be 5 stars.

I'm also in Aus, so you wouldn't be the only one! A lot of the live shows will be evening UK time (which works better or worse for me in AUS at various times during the year thanks to DST changes), but there's always at least one reading sprint a month at a different time slot for international peeps. And you can still watch the recording of reading sprints or whatever after the fact if you want to experience it a bit asynchronously
