Not at all trying for to play victim, I was SA'd as a young teen and as much as I try to believe other women when they make allegations like this, I find this whole thing to be very, very sketchy. There are just too many things that don't add up and many of the things that she said and did herself, just don't make sense. The 5 day gap between the alleged incident and her trip to the ER, is bizarre to me. This whole thing reeks of a woman who made a stupid decision, regretted it and then panicked. And again... why now? Is she still a registered Republican? If so, does her social media history show that she is a never-Trumper. I mean, has she donated to or liked/shared posts on social media from groups like The Lincoln Project or so-called Republicans like Bill Kristol? I hope Pete has some really good legal representation. Look... if I thought that he did what she claims he did, then that needs to be dealt with accordingly. But if he's innocent and she's being compensated in some way for her allegations or she's doing it out of her dislike of President Trump, then she must be held accountable. I agree with Megyn that we haven't heard the last of this, so I hope it's resolved before any confirmation hearings. The last thing this country needs is another Kavanagh debacle.

With all due respect to any victims, what is really grossly unfair is that she can make these accusations as a Jane Doe, but his name is blasted all over the place before any charges were even filed. And the police felt there wasn't sufficient evidence to file charges. So, at this point, he is the only victim in this debacle.

If a story is clearly unproven or actually proven false 1) the woman is no longer the victim 2) this would penalize women (almost exclusively) who use "administrative violence" (police, courts, HR Dept) to punish and destroy men. Some do this without much forethought while others know exactly what they are doing. The system will always (over?) protect women so perhaps it is journalists and other investigators who need to expose these toxic women. I have seen several examples in the Emergency Department. I was on jury duty for a rape case once. Basically, a woman made poor life choices and once the trust was discovered by her boyfriend, it was turned into a rape charge for the other guy. As a woman, I feel so bad for actual rape victims whose voices are silenced over the screaming of women who weren't really raped, but it looks better than being called a skank.

So there are a couple of things going on. First the accuser was trying to get of trouble with her husband. Second she had problems with Pete’s attentions to other women and she was pissed off.

So by her own story she said Hegseth was acting "inappropriately" with other women, and was giving her "the creeper vibe", so as a married woman with her husband and children in the same hotel she went with Hegseth up to Hegseth's room. She remembers everything in detail, except she conveniently has no recollection of her own decisions, and actions that placed her in Hegseth's room. IMO her entire story is made up to cover her own infidelity.
