This is not about “black face” in its traditional sense. Megyn did and said NOTHING wrong... if here is no racist intent in a persons words or actions, then it simply isn’t racist. To make the depiction of a costume more accurate and believable by lightening or reddening or darkening one’s skin simply makes for a better costume. If one finds this racist, then THEY have the problem. This is 2018 people... land of the free and home of the brave. Get over yourselves, snowflakes and libtards . PEOPLE NEED TO STOP BEING SO SENSITIVE AND PLAYING THE RACE CARD WHEN IT SIMPLY DOES NOT APPLY.

@Lillymay Parker Who are the sensitive sissies? the problem with what she said has to do with what she didn't include in her comments. If she had stated that she doesnt condone blackface, she would still have her show. And by the way, she will still get paid whatever amount of money she is legally entitled to and trust me she have another show somewhere else on some other network channel. And also, certain actors get away with doing blackface (imo) because chances are the people that have worked alongside them knows their actual views and beliefs on race. Some people with real hate in mind (notice i didnt say racists) use blackface to dehumanize black people, which has always been a slow and progressive act that starts with making certain things sem OK. Not all white people who have done it had hate in mind but how would anyone know? Just like Megyn said that certain things was acceptable when she was growing up, blackface was never acceptable. It was acceptable where she grew up because likely she grew up around nothing but white people which would explain her beliefs.

From WIKIPEDIA, the biography of AL JOLSON, the most popular blackface performer in the USA who has been unjustly demonized by the black supremacists of the nation: Jolson's legacy as the most popular performer of blackface routines was complemented by his relationships with African-Americans and his appreciation and use of African-American cultural trends.[12] Jolson first heard jazz, blues, and ragtime in the alleys of New Orleans, Louisiana. He enjoyed singing the new jazz-style of music, often performing in blackface, especially in the songs he made popular, such as "Swanee", "My Mammy", and "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody". As a Jewish immigrant and America's most famous and highest-paid entertainer, he may have had the incentive and resources to help break down racial attitudes. For instance, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) during its peak in the early 1920s, was estimated to include about 15% of the nation's eligible voting population, 4-5 million men, though probably much smaller.[41] While The Birth of a Nation glorified white supremacy and the KKK, Jolson chose to star in The Jazz Singer, which defied racial bigotry by introducing American black music to audiences worldwide.[15] While growing up, Jolson had many black friends, including Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, who became a prominent tap dancer.[23] As early as 1911, at the age of 25, Jolson was noted for fighting discrimination on Broadway and later in his movies:[42] "at a time when black people were banned from starring on the Broadway stage",[43] he promoted the play by black playwright Garland Anderson,[44] which became the first production with an all-black cast produced on Broadway; he brought an all-black dance team from San Francisco that he tried to feature in his Broadway show;[42] he demanded equal treatment for Cab Calloway, with whom he performed a number of duets in his movie The Singing Kid; he was "the only white man allowed into an all black nightclub in Harlem".[42] Al Jolson once read in the newspaper that songwriters Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle, neither of whom he had ever heard of, were refused service at a Connecticut restaurant because of their race. He immediately tracked them down and took them out to dinner, "insisting he'd punch anyone in the nose who tried to kick us out!"[12] According to biographer Al Rose, Jolson and Blake became friends. British performer Brian Conley, former star of the 1995 British play Jolson , stated during an interview, "I found out Jolson was actually a hero to the black people of America. At his funeral, black actors lined the way, they really appreciated what he'd done for them."[49] Noble Sissle, who was president of the Negro Actors Guild , represented that organization at his funeral.[50]

There is always more the story than "racism" in this situations and for Megyn Kelly, here it is: "In September on “Megyn Kelly Today,” the 47-year-old host asked that NBC hire an outside firm to determine how it handled Farrow’s reporting on Weinstein. “There’s the question of the faith and confidence of the public in the reporting of NBC on matters involving itself,” she said. “For me, as a lawyer, it’s always better if you just send it outside. And then people can have more faith in it.”" pagesix.com/2018/10/25/megyn-kellys-lawyer-wants-ronan-farrow-on-hand-to-meet-with-nbc-execs/

I never even liked Megan kelly, I thought she was boring, but I still defend her in this. As an interviewer you have to ask questions and bring up topics, you may not like or agree with all of them, but that's your job. this is basically silencing and shaming people for asking a question. That is super scary. Why do you want a hive mind of society? NPC! xD

Let's not forget that this wasn't an isolated incident, either. The Karl Malone segment was a running bit on The Man Show.

Get over yourselves, snowflakes and libtards and STOP BEING SO SENSITIVE AND PLAYING THE RACE CARD WHEN IT SIMPLY DOES NOT APPLY.

Jimmy was wrong your right but I think people viewed it as just a comedy bit. Megan Kelly has said racist things in the past that may have just been the straw that broke the camels back but the fact that she is a reporter and doesn’t know history means she should’ve been fired a long time ago. Now I don’t agree with what jimmy did I didn’t think it was funny but not many people view him as racist. He should still apologize. If it’s not okay it’s not okay

You could make a case that Kimmel was making fun of Southern people also. Karl Malone is from Louisiana.

How come no one is getting on eddie Murphy for doing his white man routine in the 80s or for Robert Downey Junior doing his black face character in tropical thunder in the 2000s?

I've noticed that THE VIEW has not yet spoken about this incident or at least, no video from that show has been uploaded to KZbin, and I think the reason for that may have something to do with the fact that Whoopi Goldberg DEFENDED Ted Danson's use of 'BLACK FACE' back in the day (late 80s or early 90s) when she was rumoured to have been dating him. This is one more example of the DOUBLE STANDARD and SELECTIVE OUTRAGE continuously displayed on that show.

Nice try Ben. Kimmel's hilarious skit was way before society became hypersensitive. These are different times we are living in when all my favorite actors have become rapists.

The comparison is ridiculous. He was joking about an individual man and his individual character traits. She’s saying the practice of blackface as a whole is ok. Keep reaching Ben.

800 people were murdered in the black neighborhoods of Chicago in 2016: Crickets. Megyn Kelly says some word:. NATIONWIDE CRISIS!! This country hasn't been the same since the Michael Richards overreaction.

Different times. Meg's comment in 2000 would probably not have gotten her fired BACK THEN. Jimmy's would never happen now. Ben didn't even mention the near full generation time difference. Convenient "overlook" for a supposedly smart Ben. Why not go back a few more years and compare things from today to Blacksploitation movies? Why? Cause it would be RIDICULOUS.
