I also switched for Trump. mostly because I worked in construction for 30 years building, high end, artistic custom showers.. dealing with the wealthy pertaining to their wants and deepest desires is a delicate process requiring finesse and doing what you said you were going to do so you don’t get sued. Are used comedy, sarcasm, self flagellation, illustration… Whatever I could throw at them to create an interest to just investigate why they had that opinion. That experiment had only 50 Friends. I tried to keep it small to see if I could punch a hole in their ignorance, so they could simply just see both sides and determine whether or not it was fair and just. These are people that I have camped with twice a year for 20 years. They know me, they see how I am with my word, and with my actions. During the Obama years, I began to see the brainwashing, the holier than thou self importance, and as we’ve seen in the Berner community, the extreme narcissism… All while lacking any interest into actually educating themselves beyond a soundbite. off the 50 I feel that only one made the journey with me. A farmer who was already on the fence. A Scotsman, who had a healthy understanding of history. During Russia gates, I began to really hit them hard on the hypocrisy, and the plain and simple, ugliness. frankly, i’m not even that ugly on a bad day with an enemy. It was embarrassing. Your comment on them being out of touch is spot on. Not only are they out of touch, but they have absolutely no intention of getting in touch. They are unwilling to admit that they were wrong, and it pains their narcissism so badly that they are still willing to the lies of Russia gate, and the laptop, which they willingly told to themselves and see it as that. There is no amount of debate or humanitarianism, or begging that can change many of them from their position. I also notice that they don’t go back and check their work, because they were right from the beginning, and so things like San Francisco and Portland continue to decline, without their awareness because they simply will not even look in that direction. i’ve learned after 20 years that I can love them as people from my history, but I no longer trust any of their words. I started looking into what RFK Jr. (& the nonprofit he started, Children’s Health Defense) in early 2020, wondering who was telling the truth about Covid, the Covid vaccines, how they were being tested, the adverse events they were seeming to cause & past vaccines’ safety testing. I have yet to catch RFK Jr. or CHD even skirting the truth a tiny bit. CHD & RFK Jr. are the ones telling the truth. When you read the actual studies yourself, including the subheadings under attached tables, et cetera, you start to see it’s our “officials” who are being deceptive and the so called “disinformation spreaders” who are telling the truth. It’s horrifying, but what they’re saying is absolutely true. & I say this as a former journalist with a master’s, an Emmy (albeit regional, but it was the only one I was eligible to earn) for my live reporting in the field and a lifetime of reading studies published in medical journals and voting for Conservatives. Kennedy & anyone who shares the ticket with him have my vote. I just hope our votes will matter…
